Chapter 1

Early autumn, by the stream in Jiangjia Village.
Yun Pianpian opened her eyes to a clear blue sky.
She found herself lying by the stream, half her body soaked in the icy water, her clothes drenched, clinging stickily to her skin, her head felt heavy and muddled.
Clutching her aching head, Yun Pianpian slowly sat up and looked around.
“Where is this?”
The stream babbled on, offering no answer. In the distance, mist, shrouded green mountains rose, lush and picturesque.
But Yun Pianpian had no mind to appreciate such beauty. She discovered a coldly handsome young man in black lying beside her.
The young man had long, mountain, like brows, his eyes closed, his skin unnaturally pale.
His red lips were slightly pursed, and his long, thick black lashes rested on his eyelids, giving him a fragile appearance.
The young man lay motionless by the stream, as if dead.
Could he really be dead?
Yun Pianpian’s heart tightened in fear. She quickly reached out a finger and held it under his nose to check if he was still breathing.
A warm breath brushed against her fingertip.
Yun Pianpian let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, though faint, he was still breathing. He wasn’t dead.
Just as she was halfway through that sigh of relief, Yun Pianpian suddenly froze, because she realized she was wearing ancient, style clothing.
What was going on?
Had she traveled through time?
Right at that moment, an unfamiliar electronic voice sounded in her ears, a clear, youthful male voice.
[Ding! Congratulations, host, for binding the Tyrant's White Moonlight System!]
[Charm the tyrant Xiao Changyuan and become his white moonlight!]
[After completing the mission, the host can return to the modern era!]
Yun Pianpian blinked, feeling that the name Xiao Changyuan sounded somewhat familiar.
Xiao Changyuan?
Her clear, sparkling eyes slowly widened.
Wasn't that the name of the major antagonist tyrant in “Song's End”?
The female lead, Ye Suxin, was breathtakingly beautiful, hailed as the number one beauty in the world. Later, her father was imprisoned, the Ye residence was raided, and Ye Suxin ended up in a brothel as a courtesan. With one song in the pleasure house, she astonished everyone and became the top songstress there.
The stunningly beautiful female lead quickly captured the attention of all the men in the world.
This included the second male lead, the third male lead, the fourth male lead, and the male lead, Chu Yi.
The male lead, Chu Yi, was an advisor to the Crown Prince of Liang.
He was deep and scheming, with a dignified appearance.
To eliminate the Crown Prince's enemies, the male lead used the female lead as a pawn, sending her to the second, third, and fourth male leads one after another.
The female lead, Ye Suxin, adored the male lead, but her love was utterly humble, humble to the point of being in the dust.
She clearly knew the male lead had no feelings for her, yet she willingly allowed herself to be used as a pawn. For the sake of that elegant, captivating smile on the male lead's lips, she would sacrifice everything, even her body, her dignity, her life.
.This was probably the essence of a tragic, deep love.
The more tragic, the more love; the more love, the more twisted.
The more twisted, the more moving!
Later, the second male lead abandoned his wife and children for the female lead, the third male lead lost his family and met his demise for her, the fourth male lead was pierced by ten thousand arrows and his parents died of rage for her.
All the Crown Prince of Liang's enemies fell under the female lead's spell and died in the male lead's sinister and ruthless honey trap.
With all enemies eliminated, there was no one left in this world who could stop the Crown Prince of Liang from ascending the throne.
A satisfied smile spread across the handsome face of the male lead, Chu Yi.
Finally, with Chu Yi’s assistance, the Crown Prince of Liang successfully ascended the throne.
Chu Yi also became the youngest chancellor in Liang’s history.
Grand ambitions and imperial power were now within reach, and then.
Liang! Kingdom! Fell! And perished!
o(╥﹏╥)o
The male lead, Chu Yi, was so enraged that he vomited three liters of blood on the spot!
No matter how many schemes he devised or how much effort he expended, he never imagined that in this world, there existed someone like Xiao Changyuan!
Xiao Changyuan, surnamed Xiao and named Changyuan, courtesy name Nightmare.
He was the Crown Prince of Nanmo, a human weapon, a walking Asura, and the nightmare of all under heaven!
At the same time, he was the ultimate villain in the novel Song’s End.
Back when the world had not yet split into five kingdoms, it was ruled by Emperor Zhaoyan of the Mo Dynasty. Emperor Zhaoyan was incompetent and foolish, and the feudal lords carved out their own territories. Later, rebel forces stormed the imperial city. With the help of General Xu, Emperor Zhaoyan fled to Lin’an and established Nanmo. From then on, the Mo Dynasty fractured under Emperor Zhaoyan’s rule, splitting into five kingdoms: Beiyong, Liang, Chen, Chu, and Nanmo.
After the five kingdoms ceased hostilities, the first thing Emperor Zhaoyan did was not to reward General Xu, who had protected him and rendered great service.
Instead, he exterminated the entire Xu clan.
He repaid kindness with enmity.
Emperor Zhaoyan believed that the reason the Mo Dynasty had fractured was not due to his own incompetence, but because the military commanders had grown too powerful, amassing troops and overshadowing the sovereign. To prevent such a situation from recurring, the ruthless Emperor Zhaoyan mercilessly slaughtered the Xu clan.
Emperor Zhaoyan’s lawful wife, Empress Xu, was the youngest daughter of General Xu.
Emperor Zhaoyan and Empress Xu had two sons.
The elder prince was named Xiao Changlin, and the younger prince was named Xiao Changyuan.
Xiao Changyuan was the great villain of this book.
From a young age, he was intelligent, kind, hearted, with rosy lips and pearly white teeth, possessing extraordinary talent and deeply beloved by the palace servants.
The day of the Xu clan massacre happened to be Xiao Changyuan’s sixth birthday.
Emperor Zhaoyan used Xiao Changyuan’s birthday as an excuse to hold a banquet in the palace, inviting Xiao Changyuan’s maternal grandfather, uncles, aunts, and cousins to attend.
A banquet hosted by the emperor in the palace was an immense honor.
The Xu clan members went to the palace with smiling faces, but not a single one walked out alive.
That night, the palace ran with rivers of blood and was littered with corpses.
The six, year, old Xiao Changyuan could not understand why his father, who had been laughing heartily just moments before, suddenly drew his sword and beheaded his eldest uncle.
Warm blood splattered onto Xiao Changyuan’s face.
It sent a chill through his entire body, as if he had fallen into an icy abyss.
Guards descended from above, wielding cold blades, and quickly subdued the unarmed Xu family members.
Xiao Changyuan saw the grim, faced Emperor Zhaoyan walking slowly toward his grandfather, a dripping sword in hand. He immediately rushed over to stop him but was kicked away by Emperor Zhaoyan, vomiting blood as he crashed to the ground.
The guards pinned the six, year, old Xiao Changyuan down firmly.
Xiao Changyuan struggled desperately on the ground, screaming and crying hysterically.
“Father! I beg you! Please spare Grandfather’s life!”
“Don’t kill my uncles!”
“Father! I beg you, let Mother go! She’s my mother!”
In the palace, all thirty, two members of the Xu clan who had attended the banquet were slaughtered by Emperor Zhaoyan.
At the same time, outside the palace, the Imperial Guards joined forces with twenty thousand forbidden troops to massacre the Xu clan, killing a total of seven hundred and fifty, eight people.
That night, the Xu clan was exterminated.
As the saying goes, even a vicious tiger does not eat its own cubs.
Emperor Zhaoyan did not directly kill Xiao Changlin and Xiao Changyuan. Instead, he threw the two brothers into a tiger cage, leaving them to fend for themselves.
That very night, the eight, year, old Xiao Changlin was torn apart by the tigers, leaving no intact remains.
In a single night, the six, year, old Xiao Changyuan lost all his loved ones.
His mother, the empress; his maternal grandfather; his uncles; his elder brother.
Countless relatives died under his father’s blade, sacrificed before the throne, on Xiao Changyuan’s birthday banquet.
They died in his endless nightmares.
Screaming until his voice gave out, his eyes tearing at the seams, he cried to the heavens with no answer, and found no escape from hell.
So he became the most bloodthirsty and cruel Asura from the depths of hell.
Returning to the mortal realm.
From that day on, Xiao Changyuan was completely corrupted.
Using Xiao Changlin’s bloodied leg bone, Xiao Changyuan killed the slumbering tiger.
Emperor Zhaoyuan felt no fear; instead, he took pride in it. How could he, weak and incompetent as he was, have fathered such a brutal and bloodthirsty son.
In Xiao Changyuan, Emperor Zhaoyan saw the hope of unifying the five kingdoms.
By day, Emperor Zhaoyan threw Xiao Changyuan into the death squad camp for training; by night, he threw him into the tiger cage to fight starving tigers.
He sought to mold Xiao Changyuan into a weapon of humanity.
Xiao Changyuan grew faster at killing tigers, and his temperament grew increasingly sinister.
The palace servants looked upon Xiao Changyuan with ever, deepening terror.
Xiao Changyuan made no effort to conceal his murderous intent toward Emperor Zhaoyan. In his heart, his father had died on that bloody night. The Emperor Zhaoyan of now was nothing but a monster from the depths of hell, wearing his father’s flesh and skin.
Emperor Zhaoyan summoned the Gu King from the Southern Border and implanted a gu worm in Xiao Changyuan’s body, preventing him from taking any action that would harm the emperor.
At the age of seventeen, Xiao Changyuan was named Crown Prince of Nanmo by Emperor Zhaoyan. The emperor ordered him to lead an expedition against the State of Liang to reclaim lost territory. Xiao Changyuan lived up to expectations, annihilating Liang, and subsequently conquered the States of Chu, Chen, and Beiyong, unifying the land.
Later, Xiao Changyuan broke the gu curse and killed the Gu King.
There was no one left in this world who could stop him from taking revenge on Emperor Zhaoyan.
The weak and incompetent Emperor Zhaoyan, who only knew how to bully his own, was frightened to death upon hearing of the Gu King’s demise.
At the age of nineteen, Xiao Changyuan ascended the throne as emperor, becoming the Son of Heaven of the Mo Kingdom.
Xiao Changyuan’s temperament was unpredictable, and his actions were erratic and unfathomable.
He once stood atop the city walls, scattering silver notes into the sky as gifts for the common people.
Yet, less than half a year later, he executed the twelve meritorious officials of Yinglan Hall.
This time, standing on the city walls, he tossed not silver notes, but their blood, drenched heads.
His nature was sinister, tyrannical, and ruthlessly cruel.
For a time, public resentment boiled over.
Everyone believed he deserved to die.
Let’s return to the main storyline.
After the fall of the Liang Kingdom, the male lead, Chu Yi, repeated his old trick and sent the female lead, Ye Suxin, to the great antagonist, Xiao Changyuan.
Even though Chu Yi had already fallen in love with Ye Suxin by then.
For the sake of national and personal vengeance, he had no choice but to send the woman he loved to Xiao Changyuan’s dragon bed.
So, is the beauty trap the only strategy the male lead knows?
Yun Pianpian was already too exhausted to complain when she read this part.
Ye Suxin quickly threw herself at Xiao Changyuan, but he pushed her away.
The young emperor, his dark eyes gloomy and icy, wore a mocking and scornful expression as he looked at Ye Suxin with disgust.
“I have no need for your body, only for your throat.”
Yun Pianpian: “…”
What a pure, untainted, and self, restrained great tyrant! So innocent and unaffected, completely unlike those fickle male leads one, two, three, and four!
In this book, none of the men could resist the female lead’s allure.
But the great antagonist, Xiao Changyuan, managed it.
Truly worthy of being the great antagonist.
Xiao Changyuan’s attitude toward the female lead was peculiar.
He bestowed upon her a magnificent palace but never laid a finger on her.
He made the female lead sing day and night, sometimes for tigers, sometimes for butterflies, until her throat was hoarse and she coughed up blood, yet Xiao Changyuan remained unmoved. Not only that, he specially built a twenty, zhang, high Duoyue Tower for the female lead, forcing her to stand atop it and sing to the immortals in the sky amidst the freezing cold wind. The female lead nearly turned into an ice sculpture.
Yun Pianpian had to admit that, as a villain in a tragic novel, Xiao Changyuan was truly fulfilling his role.
He added significant color to this classic tragic story.
Under Xiao Changyuan’s torment, the female lead sang until she repeatedly coughed up blood and lost her voice, only to be healed by the imperial physicians and forced to sing again. Meanwhile, the male lead, Chu Yi, endured humiliation and joined the ranks of the Rui Prince of the Mo Kingdom. The two occasionally met secretly in the palace but could not love each other, only sharing silent tears.
This plotline truly wrung tears from the readers.
Later, Chu Yi seized an opportunity to assassinate Xiao Changyuan while the latter was traveling incognito.
Xiao Changyuan fell off a cliff and lost his memory.
A young palace maid also fell off the cliff with him.
Yun Pianpian snapped back to reality and looked at the handsome young man lying unconscious on the ground.
It seemed he was the great antagonist from the novel, Xiao Changyuan.
This guy was quite good, looking, with fair skin and red lips, truly possessing some charm.
No wonder the female lead, Ye Suxin, later developed Stockholm syndrome and fell for this tormentor.
Seeing that her mission target was so handsome, Yun Pianpian quickly accepted the reality of her transmigration into the book.
[System, what happens if I fail the mission?]
[If the host fails the mission, they will be eliminated by the system.]
Yun Pianpian: “…” Is it really okay to treat your host so cold, bloodedly and ruthlessly?
[I’ve taken over this young palace maid’s body, so where did her soul go?]
[Upon learning that her next life would be that of a debauched little princess with three thousand male consorts, the young palace maid couldn't wait to be reincarnated.] Yun Pianpian gazed with envy, she too longed to have three thousand handsome, fair, skinned consorts.
Just then, Xiao Changyuan's thick, dark eyelashes fluttered, as if he were about to wake.
Yun Pianpian held her breath nervously, her clear, sparkling eyes fixed on him, not daring to make a sound.
Suddenly, Xiao Changyuan opened his eyes.
When his eyes were closed, he appeared delicate and elegant, beautiful like polished ink jade.
But now, Yun Pianpian felt as if that beautiful jade had suddenly frozen over.
Those deep, dark eyes, like an abyssal icy pool, instantly cast a layer of frost over his handsome face.
Cold, aloof, and utterly terrifying.
Xiao Changyuan lifted his pitch, black eyes, staring motionlessly at Yun Pianpian, his voice low and hoarse, laced with a hint of danger.
“Woman, who are you?”
