Chapter 59

It was early summer, and the gentle sunlight of the season filtered through the pale white window paper, casting a warm glow in the simple, clean room.
With an indifferent expression, Xiao Changyuan pushed the door open and went to the kitchen to start a fire and cook.
For the past three days, Xiao Changyuan had been the one lighting the fire, cooking, and taking care of Yun Pianpian's daily needs.
His coldly handsome face, with its refined features, carried a trace of lazy satisfaction and nonchalance.
Yun Pianpian lay on the bed, her cheeks flushed crimson, her entire body weak and limp.
Her clear, sparkling eyes stared blankly at the canopy above.
Glistening tears moistened her lashes, making her delicate and enchanting face appear even more fragile and pitiful.
Yun Pianpian never could have imagined that Xiao Changyuan would be so obsessed with cultivating demonic arts, so obsessed that it bordered on madness.
In the original story, Xiao Changyuan was clearly an aloof, detached iceberg of a man.
But now, she had been tormented by this iceberg to the point of being unable to leave the bed for three days.
It was just too unfair.
Thinking of Xiao Changyuan's actions over the past few days, Yun Pianpian couldn't help but shed tears.
She cried so pitifully.
After wallowing in her sorrow for a while, Yun Pianpian heard the sounds of fire being lit and vegetables being chopped coming from the kitchen.
Her stomach growled with hunger.
A sense of dissatisfaction rose within her.
Clearly, it was Xiao Changyuan who had expended all that energy, so why was she the one starving?
Heaven was truly unjust.
Yun Pianpian continued to pity herself on the bed for a while longer.
With a creak, Xiao Changyuan pushed the door open and entered.
Hearing the noise, Yun Pianpian was so frightened that she immediately wiped the tears from her face with the quilt.
Ever since Xiao Changyuan had regained his memories, he had developed an intense aversion to her tears. Every time he saw her cry, he would torment her mercilessly. Because of this, Yun Pianpian no longer dared to cry in front of him, swallowing all her tears in silence.
Just as she finished wiping her tears, Xiao Changyuan approached the bed, holding a bowl of green vegetable and shredded chicken noodles.
He placed the bowl and chopsticks on the bedside table.
Leaning down, he tried to help Yun Pianpian sit up.
Too afraid to let him assist her, Yun Pianpian immediately sat up, clutching the quilt tightly.
“I can do it myself.”
Xiao Changyuan sat on the edge of the bed and picked up the bowl of breakfast.
Using his chopsticks, he lifted a few strands of noodles and brought them to Yun Pianpian's lips.
“Open your mouth.”
“Husband, I can eat by myself.”
Yun Pianpian reached out her small hand, intending to take the bowl and chopsticks from Xiao Changyuan.
Xiao Changyuan frowned slightly.
His cold voice suddenly turned icy.
“Did I permit you to move?”
Terrified, Yun Pianpian's eyes reddened, and she immediately retracted her hand back under the quilt. She looked at Xiao Changyuan with fear and unease, but upon seeing that although he was frowning, there was no harshness in his eyes, she let out a slight sigh of relief, feeling as though she had narrowly escaped death.
After regaining his memories, Xiao Changyuan had become extremely controlling, especially in bed.
He could not tolerate even the slightest hint of freedom from Yun Pianpian.
He forbade her from eating on her own, from washing herself, everything had to be done by him personally.
Xiao Changyuan continued to feed Yun Pianpian the noodles.
For every bite he offered, she had to open her mouth and eat.
Occasionally, if she ate too quickly, Xiao Changyuan would frown slightly.
“Why the rush?”
Seeing him frown, Yun Pianpian would instinctively feel afraid.
She would slow down, chewing and swallowing the noodles carefully.
Then, she would lift her moist, clear almond, shaped eyes and gaze pitifully at Xiao Changyuan.
“Husband, I was wrong.”
Xiao Changyuan looked at her with icy eyes. “Continue.”
Yun Pianpian felt that surviving these past few days without choking to death from fear was nothing short of a miracle.
She knew that Xiao Changyuan's pathological need for control was his way of punishing her.
He had always been under her control in the past, deceived and manipulated by her.
That was why he was now retaliating with such extreme possessiveness, repaying her for the way she had toyed with him back then.
Yun Pianpian felt that after Xiao Changyuan regained his memories, she had not only lost her freedom but also her dignity.
She thought that Xiao Changyuan feeding her like this every day was no different from how he fed Buling Buling.
Thinking of Buling Buling, Yun Pianpian looked at Xiao Changyuan with some concern.
“Husband, have you fed Buling Buling these past few days?”
Xiao Changyuan acted as if he hadn't heard, merely wiping the corner of Yun Pianpian's lips with a silk handkerchief.
Only after wiping her lips did he lift his dark, ink, like eyes and gaze coldly at Yun Pianpian.
“Pianpian still has the energy to worry about Buling.”
His deep, obsidian eyes fell upon Yun Pianpian's red lips, and his gaze gradually darkened.
“It seems you have the strength to continue practicing the demonic arts.”
Seeing the dangerous look in his eyes, Yun Pianpian's heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks flushed hot.
Her breathing instantly grew rapid.
The tyrant wanted to drag her into practicing the demonic arts at any moment, he seemed to have no concept of restraint.
Frightened, Yun Pianpian clutched the blanket, her eyes darting around nervously.
Trembling with fear, her delicate body quivered as she hugged the blanket and shrank backward.
Xiao Changyuan set down the bowl and chopsticks in his hand, leaned over, and covered her.
After a storm of passion, the flowers had fallen, their petals turned to mud, the rain to mire.
Once it was over, Xiao Changyuan lazily and indifferently put on his clothes, leaving Yun Pianpian in the bedding as he took the bowl and chopsticks to the kitchen to clean up.
After tidying the kitchen, Xiao Changyuan filled the bathtub with water from the water jar, heated it with his inner strength, and then, ignoring Yun Pianpian's struggles, carried her, limp as spring mud, from the bed into the bathtub. He bent down and carefully washed her body.
Yun Pianpian blushed and struggled but it was futile.
Xiao Changyuan held her leg and said calmly, “Is there any part of your body I haven't bitten.”
Hearing this, Yun Pianpian's eyelashes trembled, her cheeks burning with shame so intense she wished she could disappear.
She closed her eyes tightly, letting him manipulate her body in the water.
She felt as though she were no longer a person with a sound and complete sense of self.
She was merely a rag doll in his hands.
He would feed her, cleanse her body, and treat her with gentle care, but he did not respect her will.
Especially later, after Xiao Changyuan had cleansed her body, he held her and practiced his demonic arts with her once more.
Her body seemed to have reached the limits of what it could endure.
Outside the window, the sunlight was bright, full of life and vitality, with the chirping of cicadas and the calls of sparrows, but this world no longer belonged to her.
Yun Pianpian worried that she might have to spend the rest of her life in bed.
Her entire body ached with weakness, her eyes hollow and vacant as she stared blankly at the hazy canopy above.
Suddenly, a word came to Yun Pianpian’s mind to describe herself.
“A rag doll.”
Boom! Boom! The two little figures, one black and one white, suddenly appeared in Yun Pianpian’s mind.
The white, righteous Pian declared, “We righteous transmigrators will never be dolls! Pianpian, run away!”
The black, evil Pian retorted, “Why run? You two are clearly so in love!”
The white, righteous Pian said with righteous indignation, “We righteous transmigrators don’t need love! All we need is justice!”
The black, evil Pian tempted, “But Pianpian, you felt the pleasure too. He is the man you love most. When you practiced the demonic arts together, you clearly felt the pleasure he brought you. He’s just too angry right now. If you coax him a little, it’ll be fine.”
The white, righteous Pian shouted angrily, “That is pale pleasure! Hollow pleasure! We righteous transmigrators don’t need such shameful pleasure!”
The black, evil Pian couldn’t resist kicking the white, righteous Pian: “Pianpian can clearly feel that Xiao Changyuan still loves her!”
The white, righteous Pian lifted its pale face and declared emphatically, “But he doesn’t love her as much as he used to!”
But he doesn’t love her as much as he used to!
Hearing these words, Yun Pianpian’s eyes welled up with glistening tears, which spilled uncontrollably.
Scalding hot tears streamed down her rosy cheeks, soaking the pillow beside her ear.
This was the phrase that could hurt her the most.
Seeing Yun Pianpian cry, the white, righteous Pian stomped the evil Pian into the ground and pressed its advantage: “Pianpian! Run away! You must overthrow this cruel exploitation! You must stand for justice and rebel against this wicked old society! You must make the great tyrant know your power!”
Hearing the righteous Pian’s words, Yun Pianpian’s hollow, vacant eyes slowly focused, gradually growing resolute.
That’s right, she would make the great tyrant know her power.
She would definitely make him regret treating her like this.
She had to escape.
Once this thought took root in her heart, Yun Pianpian felt as though her life had suddenly brightened.
All the gloom was dispelled by the sunlight.
She began to carefully plan how to escape from Xiao Changyuan’s side.
Xiao Changyuan clung to her every day, only leaving her briefly when he went to fetch water or prepare meals, but this time was too short for her to make her escape.
So she had to find a way to send Xiao Changyuan away.
Yun Pianpian was deep in thought when Xiao Changyuan suddenly pinched her chin, his voice low and hoarse.
“Pianpian, what are you thinking about?”
Yun Pianpian froze, immediately composing her expression and replying timidly, “I was thinking about how to atone for my sins to my husband.”
Xiao Changyuan’s dark eyes were profound as he reached out and wiped away the tear at the corner of her eye that she hadn’t yet had time to dry. His tone was cool: “Have you thought of a way?”
Yun Pianpian nodded: “I have.”
Xiao Changyuan asked: “What is it?”
Yun Pianpian stretched out her delicate, fair hand and wrapped her arms around Xiao Changyuan, burying her small face in his warm chest. In a soft, coquettish voice, she said, “I want to atone for my sins for a lifetime, never to part from my husband.”
I want to run away and make you regret it deeply.
Upon hearing this, Xiao Changyuan narrowed his phoenix, like eyes, deep and cold as a frozen pond.
“My Pianpian has grown clever.”
Xiao Changyuan reached out, intending to continue practicing demonic arts with her.
Yun Pianpian immediately shrank back. “Husband, I’m in so much pain.”
Xiao Changyuan paused, a slight frown creasing his brow.
“Where does it hurt?”
Suddenly, Yun Pianpian thought of a way to send Xiao Changyuan away. Suppressing her shyness, she leaned close to his ear and whispered a location. Hearing this, Xiao Changyuan’s dark eyes grew profound and intense as he gazed at her.
Yun Pianpian blushed and said, “I should apply some ointment.”
Xiao Changyuan complied, examining her for a moment before emerging from the bedding with a stern expression. “I’ll go buy the medicine.”
Yun Pianpian pitifully replied, “I’m in so much pain, I don’t want to walk. Husband, could you go to the county town and buy it for me?”
Xiao Changyuan said, “Alright.”
Yun Pianpian struggled to suppress the corners of her lips from curling upward, trying not to look too pleased.
“Thank you, husband. You treat me the best.”
Xiao Changyuan got up and left for the county town to buy the ointment.
Before leaving, he said to Yun Pianpian, “Wait for me at home. Don’t run around.”
Yun Pianpian nodded eagerly like a chick pecking at rice. “Okay, I definitely won’t run around.”
As soon as Xiao Changyuan left, Yun Pianpian’s heart blossomed with joy.
If I don’t run now, when will I ever?
Yun Pianpian immediately put on her clothes and got out of bed. The moment her feet touched the ground, her legs gave way, and she collapsed to the floor like soft spring mud. Cursing Xiao Changyuan under her breath, she ignored her weak legs and struggled to stand up.
Just then, the closed door was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
Xiao Changyuan’s gaze was heavy as he looked at Yun Pianpian.
“Pianpian, where are you going?”
