Chapter 33
Chu Yin dragged her suitcase into the dormitory building, found her floor, and located her room number.
As soon as she pushed the door open, Han Chuying rushed over enthusiastically, like a laborer seeing the organization.
“Ahhh, you’re finally here!”
“Look, I saved the bed by the window for you. We’ll be head-to-head, hehe!”
“While I was sweeping earlier, I cleaned your spot too! You can put your things down directly!”
Her thoughtfulness made Chu Yin almost embarrassed.
She rubbed the tip of her nose, wanting to give her something in return, so she opened her backpack and suitcase, looking for a long time.
Finally, she pulled out a bottle of… hair growth serum.
“This,” Chu Yin pursed her lips, a little embarrassed, “would you like it?”
Han Chuying was about to stop breathing,
A gorgeous beauty gave her a gift!!! Who cared what it was? Even if she gave her a wooden club, she’d take it!!!
“I want it, I want it!” Han Chuying immediately took it. “I’ll use it well!”
Then she lowered her head and finally saw the words on the bottle. “Wow, this brand of hair growth serum works really well!”
Chu Yin was a little surprised. “Do you have trouble in this area?”
“As someone who studies hard, how can I not go bald? Every strand of my hair has a name,” Han Chuying said, then suddenly remembered something and looked up nervously. “Ahhh, you don’t have this problem too, do you?!”
Chu Yin smiled slyly. “Didn’t you say that those who study hard can’t avoid going bald? I study hard too, you know.”
“But you can’t go bald, ahhh!”, Mom won’t allow it!!!
Although with Chu Yin’s face, even without hair, she could probably cosplay as a stunning little nun, but her tea-colored hair was so beautiful, how could she go bald?!
In the end, Han Chuying nervously checked Chu Yin’s hairline and, confirming she had no risk of balding, finally let out a long sigh of relief.
Since they weren’t on campus, Chu Yin wasn’t wearing the loose school uniform issued by Quiwen.
Han Chuying had initially assumed that Chu Yin probably had poor taste in clothes. After all, she had heard that although Chu Yin was the daughter of the Chu family, she had always lived in the countryside. Moreover, since Chu Yin transferred schools, aside from seeing her wear a black dress at the dance, she had only ever been in her school uniform. Han Chuying had always found it a bit regrettable.
But now, seeing her up close, Chu Yin definitely did not have poor taste in clothes!
After taking off her thick coat, she was wearing a solid dark black hoodie underneath, layered with a patterned shirt. The collar of the shirt peeked out from the round neckline of the hoodie, adding both a lively touch and a sense of layering. On the bottom, she wore slim-fit jeans, and her incredibly long legs were tucked into eight-hole Martin boots.
She looked both beautiful and effortlessly cool.
As Chu Yin tidied up her dorm room, Han Chuying squatted nearby, admiring her. Only after Chu Yin had put all her things in place did Han Chuying hand her a stack of papers: "Take a look at this."
Chu Yin took it and asked, "What is it?"
"Practice questions from previous winter camps. I figured you probably didn’t know about these, so I printed an extra copy for you."
Chu Yin was surprised once again.
Although the winter camp had a name that made it sound like a fun outing, the reality was that it was all about classes, training, and exams. Ultimately, everyone here was in competition with each other. But Han Chuying didn’t seem to care about that. These questions were likely quite valuable, yet she had given them to her without hesitation.
Noticing her surprised expression, Han Chuying waved her hand dismissively. "That’s just how I am. I don’t like smelly men, but when I see a pretty and kind-hearted girl, I just want to be nice to her. Besides, I know I don’t stand a chance at the Hope Cup anyway, so I’m just here to have fun."
Han Chuying had always had a particularly good mindset. She was smart and had plenty of time outside of studying to admire beautiful girls. With her own grades, she was more than capable of getting into a good university in the country. As for the Hope Cup, she was just there for the experience.
After hearing this, Chu Yin liked this girl even more.
...If nothing else, she greatly admired her disdain for "smelly men"!
"Alright then, if there’s anything you need me to do, just ask anytime," Chu Yin said with a smile.
Han Chuying grinned foolishly: Just stay beautiful, that’s all I need!!
There wasn’t much to do on the first day of registration. The welcome ceremony and classes wouldn’t start until the next day. Chu Yin glanced around the dorm and noticed that another bed was already made up.
Han Chuying had been staring at her face the whole time, and before Chu Yin could even ask, she answered, "Oh, that bed belongs to someone from the provincial experimental high school. She seems like a top student. We’ve been in the dorm for an hour and only exchanged one sentence. After she finished unpacking, she took her study materials and went to the library."
Chu Yin suddenly felt a surge of nervousness.
This place was indeed filled with strong competitors, and everyone seemed to be giving their all. It looked like she couldn’t afford to slack off either, after all, she still needed to rank in the top five in the upcoming aptitude test.
In the four-person dorm room, only one spot remained. Chu Yin didn’t particularly care about her roommates, since they would only be together for ten days. Even if there were some lifestyle incompatibilities, they could just tolerate each other and get through it.
Just as she was thinking this, someone walked in through the dormitory door, apparently, the new roommate.
Chu Yin looked up and, upon seeing the other person’s face, froze for a moment, someone she knew?
"You’re Liang Yueqi from the international class? What are you doing here?" Han Chuying asked in surprise.
Liang Yueqi swept her gaze over Chu Yin’s face, a hint of arrogance in her expression. "My family heard that Lu Zhen was participating, so they arranged for me to come as well, to make it easier for us to study and improve together."
The subtext was clear: she didn’t need the school’s quota, and she was here to accompany Lu Zhen.
Han Chuying silently grumbled to herself: Improve what? Liang Yueqi is only good at English, she can’t even outscore Chu Qiuqiu from our class in math. Isn’t she just setting herself up for embarrassment here?
Seeing Liang Yueqi, Chu Yin wasn’t in the best mood, because her appearance meant that Lu Zhen, that scoundrel, was really coming.
Sigh.
But Chu Yin wasn’t afraid of him now. The plot had already deviated so much, it was no longer following the original trajectory. Besides, her studies and ambitions were steadily progressing, and her ability to control the script was growing stronger.
Chu Yin glanced at Liang Yueqi. "Well, good luck to you."
Chasing the male lead all the way here, that was truly an admirable level of dedication.
Liang Yueqi gave a faint smile but said nothing.
Deep down, she still believed what her grandfather had told her, there was no need to see Chu Yin as a rival. But with the winter camp being so long, she couldn’t help feeling a little uneasy. Her main purpose in coming was to build a relationship with Lu Zhen and, incidentally, to improve herself.
Then, Miss Liang looked around the four-person dorm with disdain and reluctantly placed her luxury bag on the empty desk.
Seeing her attitude, Han Chuying completely gave up on the idea of getting along. Liang Yueqi was quite pretty, but compared to Chu Yin, she fell far short. Han Chuying was content just watching Chu Yin.
Chu Yin sat at the desk and skimmed through the problems Han Chuying had given her. She picked a couple to solve and found them to be flexible and highly logical. Immersed in thought, she twirled her pen as her mind raced.
After a while, Han Chuying called out to her, "Hey, I didn’t mean for you to start on them now! Aren’t you hungry?"
Only then did Chu Yin remember they hadn’t eaten dinner yet.
The winter camp organizers had issued student cards to everyone, preloaded with ten days’ worth of meal funds to use at the school cafeteria.
"I heard H University’s cafeteria is really good. Let’s go, let’s go!" Han Chuying urged Chu Yin to get up, then glanced at Liang Yueqi and asked, "Liang, want to come with us?"
Liang Yueqi replied disdainfully, "No, my butler will bring me a meal later."
"Oh, "
Chu Yin and Han Chuying paid her no further mind and headed downstairs.
Just as they reached the bottom of the stairs, they ran into a few high school-aged girls, their faces filled with excitement.
"He’s so handsome, ahhh!"
"Is he here for the winter camp too?!"
"Ahhh I'm going crazy, I heard he's from a private school in the neighboring province!"
"No wonder, he looks so rich!"
Chu Yin paused in her steps, pulled by Han Chuying: "What's wrong?"
"...Nothing."
That damn guy arrived pretty quickly.
As soon as they stepped out of the dormitory building, there were even more girls lingering around, all excitedly looking in the same direction.
Under the tree across from the dormitory stood a black-haired young man, quietly waiting.
Han Chuying had no interest in men, she only liked pretty older sisters, so she didn't glance that way, and Chu Yin certainly wouldn't look either. The two of them silently headed toward the cafeteria.
From the moment Chu Yin stepped out of the dormitory, Lu Zhen had spotted her.
She wasn't wearing her school uniform today; her outfit was sharp and neat, quite different from the quiet, well-behaved student he remembered. But... it was very captivating.
Although winter break had already started, many students still lingered on the university campus. The boys passing by couldn't help but show surprise and eagerness when they saw Chu Yin.
Lu Zhen frowned, his gaze darkening as a wave of restlessness surged within him.
Then, watching as Chu Yin didn't even spare him a glance and walked away with her head down, he felt a deep sense of helplessness.
Lately, he had been walking the Lu family's dogs himself, just so he could linger a bit longer in the villa area. But even after walking the dogs until they voluntarily headed home for many days in a row, he hadn't run into her again.
She was probably studying hard at home.
Lu Zhen knew she didn't want to interact with him. But he just... couldn't help it. He wanted to talk to her, had been thinking about it for days.
Seeing Chu Yin about to walk away, Lu Zhen sighed helplessly and hurried after her in a few quick steps: "Chu Yin, "
His voice was clear and distinct.
Han Chuying paused and glanced at Chu Yin, a bit surprised: "You know School Hunk?"
Well, it made sense, since Chu Yin was at the level of a School Belle herself.
Chu Yin sighed inwardly. She didn't want to have any connection with Lu Zhen in front of her classmates, so she had no choice but to say to Han Chuying, "Wait for me a moment? I'll be right back."
"Go ahead, go ahead!" Han Chuying naturally wouldn't interfere with someone else's social life.
Though if it were someone else, they'd probably take the chance to chat with School Hunk, but Han Chuying wouldn't. Her only thought was, this is the downside of being too beautiful, you attract all the annoying men.
...
When Lu Zhen saw Chu Yin turn around and walk toward him, his heart suddenly trembled.
Chu Yin stopped in front of him and asked, "What is it?"
Lu Zhen looked down at her, his fingers at his sides curling slightly, "No... nothing important, just saying hello."
Chu Yin sighed inwardly. Lu Zhen in this lifetime really loved greeting people, was he really that polite?
Lu Zhen noticed her doubtful gaze and gave a somewhat evasive smile. "Because you're the only person I know here. Could you look out for me, honor student?"
Chu Yin listened, held back for a moment, but couldn't resist replying, "...You're pretty good at studying too."
Although she tried to control her tone, there was still a faint, almost negligible hint of sourness.
Alright, she was a little jealous, she would definitely score higher than that dog man by those two points next time!!!
Lu Zhen was very attuned to her emotions and couldn't help but curl his lips into a smile. "For the final exam, I guessed on one multiple-choice question."
Chu Yin looked up in surprise.
Lu Zhen's dark eyes held a scattering of amusement. "So I was just lucky."
Chu Yin thought for half a second. "So that means I'm still more impressive?"
Lu Zhen couldn't hold back and broke into a wide grin.
It seemed he had finally found a way... to be noticed by her, even if just a little.
Being her rival was fine too, at least she would see him.
Chu Yin was annoyed. "What are you laughing at?"
Lu Zhen's gaze rested on her face, carrying an unconscious tenderness and caution.
"Yeah, you're impressive."
...
In the cafeteria, Chu Yin used her student card to buy a curry pork cutlet rice and found a seat with Han Chuying.
After what had just happened, many of the winter camp participants in the cafeteria were sneaking glances at Chu Yin.
Han Chuying had bought a large bowl of spicy hot pot and was panting from the heat as she asked, "So what did you two talk about? Is the school heartthrob trying to chase you?"
Not to exaggerate, but many girls watching nearby had said the scene was like something out of an idol drama, absolutely stunning.
Chu Yin let out a "pfft" sound.
"No, no," she quickly clarified, "we were just discussing academics."
That dog man Lu Zhen seemed to have fallen in love with studying in this lifetime too. He had just told her that he also wanted to qualify for the Hope Cup, so he would study math seriously and hoped they could help each other as classmates.
What a lunatic! Who would help him?!
They were rivals! Mortal enemies, okay?!
But she knew the Lu family had always placed great importance on Lu Zhen's education. Besides these basic subjects, he also took courses in economics and others, covering a wide range of knowledge. And Lu Zhen really was highly intelligent.
But if Lu Dog really wanted to battle her in math, Chu Yin's competitive spirit ignited instantly.
Take him down, take him down, take him down!
Crush him under her feet!!!
Across from her, Han Chuying watched Chu Yin's eager expression and couldn't help but feel another wave of excitement, even forgetting to eat her spicy hot pot.
Oh, such beauty is like a cannonball!
I've been struck again! Ah!,
…
The next day, the winter camp organizers held a welcome ceremony in the auditorium of the comprehensive building.
Having spent a night in the dorm, the campers had gotten to know each other a bit. Aside from stunningly good-looking ones like Chu Yin and Lu Zhen, the most noticeable campers were naturally the top talents from various schools.
"I've asked around," Han Chuying whispered. "Someone from Experimental High School won a bronze medal last year, and there are two big shots from other provinces who've already been admitted to B University, plus the academic genius from our neighboring No. 1 High School."
A rough count showed there were many capable people.
Liang Yueqi felt extremely awkward among this group.
Her math skills were really average. Yesterday, while Chu Yin and the others were off eating, Liang Yueqi had glanced at the test papers on Chu Yin's desk, she hadn't understood a thing. Now, looking at these people, each one seemed more impressive than the last.
Chu Yin felt a bit nervous too.
Last night, she had been working on problems in the dormitory until midnight. If Miss Liang hadn’t complained that the faint rustling of her turning pages was disturbing her sleep, Chu Yin would have kept going.
On the podium, the teacher was giving a speech:
"Everyone is here for a common purpose, to improve yourselves and aim for the Hope Cup. Therefore, we will do our best to meet your daily needs so that you can focus wholeheartedly on your studies..."
"Our teaching staff is exceptionally strong. Among the instructors we’ve invited, some have even been involved in setting questions for previous Hope Cup competitions! Additionally, we will invite outstanding alumni to help you make progress..."
After the welcome session concluded, they immediately got down to business. All the students moved to a large classroom, where they were seated in groups, and the teaching began.
Chu Yin sat with Han Chuying. Their group also included several students who looked exceptionally capable.
Lu Zhen was the last to enter the classroom. By then, Chu Yin’s group was already full, and there were many boys in it.
His brow furrowed slightly.
"Lu Zhen, over here!" Liang Yueqi suddenly called out. There was still an empty seat beside her.
Many girls in the room were paying attention to Lu Zhen, and her call felt like a declaration of ownership. Those who hadn’t paid much attention to her before now turned to look.
Lu Zhen, looking indifferent, did walk toward Liang Yueqi’s group. However, he ignored her invitation and took another seat in the same group.
Chu Yin watched silently, cheering inwardly: Liang Yueqi, keep going! Charge! Don’t be discouraged! Win him over!!
This was a training session focused on assessing everyone’s mathematical thinking. The distributed test papers contained numerous number array diagrams, pattern-finding problems, word problems, and several sets of magic squares.
Han Chuying clicked her tongue quietly. "This looks really difficult..."
It was the first time the competitors had gathered together, and an invisible sense of rivalry had already emerged. No one wanted to fall behind.
The boy sitting opposite Chu Yin picked up his pen as soon as he received the paper, his pen tip gliding swiftly across the page, intensifying the pressure on everyone.
He’s clearly a top student!
Chu Yin, her heart racing, unfolded her paper, silently read the questions, and then... began solving them with remarkable ease.
The results of her intensive training were now evident, and her enhanced logical thinking skills had seamlessly integrated into her mathematical reasoning. At that moment, Chu Yin suddenly became acutely aware of her progress.
A sense of fulfillment and satisfaction filled her heart, motivating her to tackle the problems with even greater determination.
The top student opposite her gradually realized that the girl across from him was solving problems just as quickly as he was! Feeling the pressure, he glanced up and noticed that she had already surpassed him by one question!
The big shot immediately lowered his head again and quickly resumed working.
The final magic square problem was very complex. Han Chuying had struggled through the previous problems, and by the time she reached this last one, she almost felt like giving up.
But when she looked up and saw Chu Yin beside her and the big shot diagonally in front, both buried in their calculations, she suddenly felt too embarrassed to quit.
Although Han Chuying wasn’t at the top of the class here, she had a solid foundation and could gauge the difficulty of problems. A problem of this level was probably beyond anyone present.
Sure enough, after another five minutes, the big shot put down his pen.
Han Chuying glanced over and saw that the magic square was still incomplete. Just as she thought.
Chu Yin beside her hadn’t given up yet. Han Chuying propped her cheek on her hand, admiring the beautiful girl’s focused expression up close, pink bubbles practically floating above her head.
A girl who refuses to admit defeat is so adorable!
Two minutes later, Chu Yin put down her pen.
Just then, the teacher patrolling the classroom smiled and asked, “Is everyone stuck on the last odd-order magic square problem? Has anyone solved it?”
A chorus of sighs and murmurs filled the classroom.
But Chu Yin whispered, “From top to bottom on the left: 18, 3, 2; from top to bottom on the right: 16, 9, 3…”
Han Chuying was stunned. “You solved it?!”
The big shot across from them also snapped his head up.
Han Chuying leaned over to check the numbers and found they were indeed correct.
“Oh my god, Yin Yin, you’re actually this amazing!”
Chu Yin wore an inscrutable expression.
Truthfully, she had only just realized it herself.
…She was this amazing.
This buff was just too good TAT.
On the other side, Liang Yueqi had given up halfway through the problems.
Hearing the teacher ask about the last question, Liang Yueqi quickly glanced at Lu Zhen and noticed he had already filled in the grid.
Liang Yueqi took her paper over and asked softly, “Lu Zhen, how do you solve the last problem? I couldn’t do it.”
Lu Zhen tossed his pen aside, his expression cold. “It’s normal that you couldn’t.”
Liang Yueqi: “…”
…
The winter camp teachers placed great emphasis on interacting with students and praised Chu Yin several times that day.
By the end of the two-day session, Chu Yin’s nickname in the camp had shifted from “that incredibly pretty girl” to “that incredibly skilled beauty.” Standing alongside the other top students, she became a popular figure in the camp, with people even visiting her dorm in the evening.
However, these visits often carried an investigative tone, many simply wanted to see what Chu Yin did at night or what practice books she used.
The proficiency test was the next day, and everyone knew that the ranking and scores would count toward the overall grade, ultimately affecting their eligibility for the Hope Cup competition.
After recognizing her dramatically improved abilities, Chu Yin’s mindset stabilized. She stuck to her routine, solving problems when it was time and sleeping when it was time.
Her roommate, a top female student, seemed spurred on by her and adopted a “I won’t sleep if you don’t” attitude, frantically working on problems.
Liang Yueqi observed the situation in the dorm, sat at her desk, and opened a set of problems handed out during the day.
Then she glanced at Chu Yin, then at Han Chuying, and finally decided to ask the top female student from the experimental school next door for help.
“Classmate,” Liang Yueqi walked over and smiled gently, “could you teach me how to solve this problem?”
The top student looked up and said with clear disdain, “You can’t even solve this?”
Han Chuying almost couldn’t hold back her laughter.
The top student was brutally honest: “How did you even get in here?”
Miss Liang’s face turned ashen.
The next day was the aptitude test. Everyone was shuffled, and the seating chart was posted outside the exam hall.
Chu Yin was once again seated next to Lu Zhen.
Fortunately, this time she was sitting behind him, so she didn’t have to figure out how to make the jerk go blind during the exam.
After handing in their bags and phones, the students took their seats, and the teacher distributed the test papers.
Lu Zhen took his paper, turned slightly, and passed it to Chu Yin.
As she took it, she heard him lower his voice, a hint of laughter in it: "Confident you can beat me?"
Chu Yin: "..."
Ahhhh, teacher! He’s provoking me!!!
Chu Yin’s fighting spirit instantly maxed out and lasted until the end of the exam.
The winter camp was incredibly efficient, results were announced the same day the test was taken.
Han Chuying knew Chu Yin cared a lot about her score and pulled her along to check the results on the bulletin board.
Although Chu Yin felt fairly confident, she had no idea how others had performed, so her heart was still pounding.
Then, on the ranking list, she saw herself in third place.
"Oh my god, you’re amazing!"
Han Chuying didn’t even check her own rank; she just thought Chu Yin was incredible and wished she could take a picture of the ranking and post it on Quiwen’s forum to show all the jealous haters who kept popping up.
If Chu Yin could win an award in the Hope Cup, Han Chuying could almost predict that she would truly become the campus goddess.
Chu Yin looked at her score and felt relieved, permission obtained .
Then she looked again, Lu Zhen was fourth!
...Ahhhh, so satisfying!!!!
She had finally beaten the jerk!
No one can defeat me, Chu Yin!!
Ding, [Top Five in Aptitude Test] mission completed! Congratulations, host, on obtaining [Edit Single Sentence] permission! and randomly receiving a special reward [Phrase Card]!
Chu Yin: "Good, good, very good."
Only then did she have the leisure to check others’ rankings. Han Chuying was 15th, in the upper-middle range of the camp. The academic ace from their dorm ranked 7th, also impressive.
Liang Yueqi was gloriously at the bottom, supporting the entire ranking list.
Han Chuying whispered, "So what is this young lady even here for? Isn’t this just public humiliation..."
Chu Yin thought: She’s not here to study; she’s here to discover the romance plot.
...Hmm, romance plot?
Chu Yin’s mind suddenly stirred.
Since the winter camp plot hadn’t happened in her previous life, Chu Yin had no plot to change. But she suddenly realized, besides changing things... she could also create!
The day after the aptitude test, the winter camp gave students the afternoon off, allowing them to leave campus and make their own plans. Han Chuying seized the opportunity and invited Chu Yin to go out with her.
Going out with a gorgeous girl! If they went shopping at the mall, she could even take photos of Chu Yin! Ahhhh!
Chu Yin had no objections, but before heading out, she first glanced at today’s script.
[...Chu Yin and Han Chuying left H University and went to a nearby mall to shop and eat.
Many other winter camp students also came here. The two of them ate, drank, and relieved their stress.
Before long, they ran into Lu Zhen by chance...]
Pfft, as if I’d believe it was a coincidence!
Trash script, protagonist power, still pushing Lu Zhen toward her.
But today, she had a new idea, if Chu Yin didn’t want to follow the romantic storyline between herself and Lu Zhen, she could try to make Lu Zhen develop feelings for someone else!
She had tried other approaches before, like pairing Song Zhaolin with Lu Zhen as the School Belle, or having Zheng Yu pin Lu Zhen against a wall and confess her feelings... but those attempts had probably been misguided.
She thought that Liang Yueqi might just need an opportunity, a starting point, after all, many love stories begin by chance!
Chu Yin rolled up her sleeves and crossed out the line, "Before long, they ran into Lu Zhen by chance."
She changed it to: "Here, Lu Zhen and Liang Yueqi experienced a romantic encounter."
A people’s artist handcrafting your love story!
She was practically a genius!!
Romantic! Encounter! The wording was perfect, full of infinite charm and ambiguity!
Go for it, Miss Liang! I can only help you this much!
...
That afternoon, half the dormitory emptied out.
After all, it was winter break, and even the top students couldn’t resist the urge to go out and have fun with friends.
Lu Zhen was staying at a hotel across from H University. He stood by the window for a while and saw Chu Yin and her classmate come out, boarding a bus headed downtown.
Lu Zhen changed his clothes, then went out and got into the car waiting by the roadside.
“Where to, young master?”
Lu Zhen: “Follow bus number 13.”
From a distance, he saw Chu Yin and her friend get off at the mall entrance. Lu Zhen also signaled to stop and got out by the roadside.
When he looked up again, he suddenly saw Liang Yueqi’s face.
“Lu Zhen,” Liang Yueqi said with a delighted expression, “What a coincidence!”
Under the warm winter sun, the charming young lady and the noble young master met by chance on an unfamiliar city street, it was indeed romantic.
Lu Zhen responded coldly, “Hmm.”
After giving a perfunctory reply, he turned around only to find that Chu Yin’s figure had disappeared.
A flicker of irritation rose in Lu Zhen’s heart. He turned and strode into the mall.
After circling around once, he still hadn’t found her. He stopped in front of a dessert shop, his brow furrowed.
Suddenly, Liang Yueqi walked out of the shop, coincidentally running into him again.
The charming young lady held a strawberry milkshake, standing under pink neon lights, making the scene of their encounter incredibly sweet.
Liang Yueqi was also surprised: “What a coincidence, Lu Zhen, we meet again!”
This kind of fate felt as if it were arranged by the heavens...
Lu Zhen: “...”
He paused for a few seconds, then turned and walked away.
And then...
When Lu Zhen entered a convenience store, Liang Yueqi would appear behind the opposite aisle.
When Lu Zhen chose a Western restaurant, Liang Yueqi would be sitting at the next table.
When Lu Zhen followed the trail of other students to the cinema upstairs to find Chu Yin, Liang Yueqi once again appeared in front of the popcorn machine at the theater entrance.
Lu Zhen: "……"
Liang Yueqi: "Haha. What a coincidence."
Lu Zhen looked at her, his indifferent expression cracking slightly.
After a long pause, he took a deep breath and finally spoke.
"...Are you a fucking ghost or something?"
