Chapter 16
The air conditioning in the hospital was turned up high, and because it was the fifteenth floor, the place was also very quiet.
Lin Miao was very serious as she used a piece of paper to fan her older brother.
The breeze from the paper was light, but it effectively dispelled the loneliness that had settled in the young master's heart.
He wiped her sweat away, saying, "Go to sleep, you need to get up early for breakfast tomorrow."
Lin Miao whispered in the night, "You sleep, I will sleep during the day tomorrow."
"In the future, I’ll sleep during the day, and come to fan you at night. Brother, go to sleep."
The young master could see her eyes in the night, and in them, there was only him.
Pure and beautiful.
He thought to himself that he would always be very kind to her.
"Go to sleep." The young master said, "I can sleep now."
Lin Miao lay on the bed next to him, stretched out her arm, and tried to continue fanning him. However, she realized the two beds were a bit far apart, so she quickly got up, moved the bed next to his, and then lay back down contentedly to continue fanning him.
The next morning, when the doctor arrived, he found that the two beds were side by side, and Lin Miao was soundly asleep on the accompanying bed.
Meanwhile, back at the villa, people had realized Lin Miao was missing.
Usually, Lin Miao would wake up around seven, but this time, it was already 7:30, and she still hadn’t gotten up. The grandmother, thinking that the two children had a good relationship, went upstairs to comfort Lin Miao. Upon entering, she found that under the blanket, there was only one pillow.
Frowning, the grandmother quickly called the butler and Mr. Yu, "Has anyone seen Lin Miao?"
Mr. Yu was a bit impatient, "The child might have run off. Check if she's in the garden."
The grandmother furrowed her brow and ordered others to quickly search for her.
Everyone in the villa was mobilized to search for Lin Miao.
But they couldn’t find her, and the grandmother quickly called the property management. The security department quickly retrieved last night's footage. Around 10 PM, a little girl with a backpack was seen running out of the gate, and then she disappeared.
She had run out in the middle of the night.
At this moment, the doctor called back.
The young master's voice was heard, "Lin Miao..."
Before he could finish his sentence, the grandmother said, "Lin Miao is having breakfast. Has Mr. Yu had breakfast yet?"
The young master hoarsely replied, "I told Lin Miao to come to the hospital. Grandma, don't look for her at home."
Lin Miao listened to the young master take the blame for her and regretted it deeply. She had woken up too late this morning, and if she had gotten up earlier, she could have returned before anyone noticed. Now, because she slept in, the doctor had caught her.
She could only admit to her mistake.
Lin Miao’s reasoning was simple. She was admitting fault because they didn’t want her to come here, but she had sneaked out on her own. So she had to admit it.
It was the same as when the doctors didn’t like them playing games or going out for too long. If they were caught sneaking out, they had to admit it too.
To Lin Miao, there was no difference.
After hanging up, the grandmother still didn’t believe it.
How could her grandson let someone go to the hospital that late alone?
But the grandmother couldn’t help but ask, "How did she know where the hospital was?"
This child’s background was still very clear. She grew up in a small town, and had never seen anything like the big city.
The butler said, "She seemed to have asked me which hospital the young master was in, and I told her it was the best hospital."
The grandmother sighed and was somewhat shocked, "She found Mr. Yu just based on that one sentence?"
Mr. Yu was also a little moved but said, "Let her stay in the hospital with him."
It was a relief nothing happened, and the grandmother regretted not letting her go directly at the time.
Lin Miao was very happy when she realized she could stay in the hospital and wouldn’t have to go back.
In the afternoon, Mrs. Yu arrived at the hospital.
She cried as she held the young master, "How did you get chickenpox? What did the doctor say? I’ll stay with you during this time, don’t be afraid."
The grandmother looked out the window at the reporters gathered outside the hospital and had a dark expression. She didn’t say anything.
Lin Miao, being a child, didn’t get involved in the adults’ issues, but she secretly paid attention to her brother, making sure he didn’t scratch his chickenpox spots because the doctor had said that if the skin was broken, there could be a bacterial infection. So, Lin Miao kept a close watch on him to ensure he didn’t scratch.
At night, Lin Miao was still staying by the bed. The adults had gone home, and now it was the children’s time. Everything became much more relaxed.
The bed and accompanying bed were right next to each other, and Lin Miao chatted with the young master while she fanned him.
She lay next to him, and in her heart, she wasn’t so anxious anymore.
During the day, the adults were around, so Lin Miao didn’t feel comfortable talking to the young master and could only do so secretly.
The young master’s adjacent room was occupied by a very thin old woman. Whenever Lin Miao went to get water, she would pass by the woman’s room and see her lying alone in the hospital bed.
Sometimes, Lin Miao would bring her an apple, one that she had bought herself.
When she came that day, she had carried five kilograms of apples up from downstairs.
But in reality, there was no shortage of fruit in their room, and the apples they had were even larger than the ones Lin Miao bought.
So, the apples she bought didn’t get finished, and Lin Miao simply gave them to the old lady next door.
The old lady looked a bit fierce, but Lin Miao wasn’t scared of her at all.
The young master heard Lin Miao talking about the old lady and said, "She’s so old, she probably can’t eat apples."
Lin Miao then realized, "Right."
So, the young master asked the nurse to peel the apples very thinly and then send them to the old lady next door.
The old lady later sent them a large dragon fruit, probably from a fruit basket someone had given her. It was huge.
Adults occasionally still argued, but they didn’t do it in the hospital room, so the young master didn’t know, but Lin Miao did.
The doctor also confirmed that there were no complications, and the young master’s chickenpox was slowly healing.
In just a few days, he would be able to go home.
However, when they went out, they were surrounded by a large group of reporters.
Lin Miao, having never encountered this situation, quickly shielded her brother.
Two bodyguards and the doctor managed to block quite a few, but some reporters still pressed forward. "Young Master Yu, can you tell us about your relationship with your mother?"
"Your mother is often away because of work, do you have anything you’d like to say to her?"
Lin Miao was in front of her brother, and the reporter was so eager that the microphone came right up to her. If the young master hadn’t reacted quickly and used his hand to shield her face, the microphone would have hit Lin Miao’s eye.
The young master was furious. He had been surrounded by reporters before, but never to this extent. His voice was harsh, "I’d like to interview your child. Your father was taken by the police because of work. Does she have anything to say to you?"
