Chapter 28

Gu Yi'an watched this scene.
She said calmly, "Since you're awake, why pretend you're not? Take a good look at what's in front of you."
The male player wielding the dagger froze abruptly, the knife suspended mid-air.
He turned his head jerkily, like a slow robot, and looked at the person standing outside.
The light from the parking lot shone down from above, making Gu Yi'an appear even more lifeless. Her demeanor was already cool and detached, but at this moment, she seemed like an icy judge, presiding over the sins of humanity.
The male player stiffly turned his head back and saw the woman in the passenger seat. A drop of blood dripped from the knife in his hand.
"I... killed someone?"
From outside, Gu Yi'an only saw the male player seemingly speaking.
The next second, she heard the male player's voice, filled with despair and collapse, "I killed someone!""
His roar echoed throughout this small space.
Gu Yi'an glanced around, searching for the other female player.
The driver's seat of the car was open, the female player who had been driving must have dodged quickly and narrowly escaped disaster.
It didn’t take long for Gu Yi'an to spot her.
The female player was crouched behind the corner of a flower bed, cautiously peeking toward the parking area.
Perhaps due to the lighting effect from the side of the flower bed, her face appeared multicolored and even somewhat ghastly.
Seeing her like this, Gu Yi'an knew the female player wouldn’t dare approach the parking area anytime soon.
Suddenly, music rang out in the small space, clashing sharply with the male player’s incessant, repetitive confessions coming from the half-open car door.
It was an incoming call ringtone.
The sound came from behind Gu Yi'an. She immediately turned and saw Lu Zize, standing on the other side of the car, answer the call.
“Mm. I’ll be right there. He won’t resist.”
After a brief exchange with the person on the other end, Lu Zize hung up.
Noticing Gu Yi'an’s gaze, he explained, “The enforcement team is coming to take him away.”
It went without saying, the person the enforcement team was coming for was the male player who had just committed murder.
The male player, seemingly unaware of what awaited him, huddled in the back seat, muttering, “I didn’t mean to kill her. I just wanted to kill the ghost. I really only wanted to kill the ghost.”
Casually, Gu Yi'an closed the car door behind her and leaned against the car, her eyes fixed on the direction of the male player as she quietly reflected.
She remembered how, on the way back, the male player had been reluctant to get in the car, afraid that a ghost might appear. But Lu Zize had said, “If there’s a ghost, just kill it.”
Where had the knife in the male player’s hand come from?
Was it already in the car, or had Lu Zize placed it there earlier?
But now, it no longer mattered.
The male player had killed a female player.
Perhaps it was hypnosis, using psychological suggestion to manipulate him into killing.
That was the only possibility Gu Yi'an could think of.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t find any evidence of Lu Zize’s crime.
The enforcement team and the funeral home staff arrived almost simultaneously, taking away the male player and the body respectively.
Gu Yi'an asked the enforcement team how they would handle the male player.
The team leader was the same captain who had previously come to the investigation bureau to arrest Liu Han.
He had also noticed the male player’s unstable mental state. Upon hearing Gu Yi'an’s question, he replied, “We’ll likely send him to see a doctor first. Once the doctor’s assessment is complete, we’ll decide. Murder warrants the death penalty. If an investigator commits a crime, especially with such brutal methods, and if his mental state is deemed normal, the execution will be carried out immediately.”
Though being forced into the enforcement team’s vehicle, the male player didn’t miss the captain’s words. He immediately shot a pleading look at Gu Yi'an.
He didn’t want to die!
He never meant to kill anyone!
“Sister Gu! I didn’t mean to kill her! It was him, he made me do it!”
The male player struggled fiercely, trying to lunge toward Lu Zize.
But after nearly two days and a night without proper rest, he had little strength left.
With a twist of the enforcement officer’s hand, the male player’s arms were pinned behind his back. He howled in pain but persisted in trying to charge at Lu Zize.
Lu Zize stood still, unmoving, likely confident that the male player wouldn’t even graze his clothes.
Soon, the law enforcement team and the hearse disappeared into the night one after another.
Even the streetlights couldn't dispel the chill.
Gu Yi'an walked over to the female player crouching by the flower bed. Instinctively, the female player shrank back.
She was already in a defensive crouch, and with that movement, she immediately fell to the ground.
Gu Yi'an said, "If you don't believe me, keep your distance. Get up and come with me upstairs."
The female player glanced at Gu Yi'an, wiped under her eyes, and said hoarsely, "I don't dare to trust anyone anymore."
Gu Yi'an understood her. "To be honest, I don't dare to trust anyone either. Human hearts are unpredictable. It's good to be cautious."
The female player said, "I think I should trust you."
She pushed herself up from the ground. "Even though people can be scarier than ghosts, without someone to trust, I don't know how I could go on living."
A faint smile tugged at Gu Yi'an's lips. She understood the female player's words. She felt the same way.
Ignoring Lu Zize, who was following behind her, Gu Yi'an led the female player directly to the second floor of the office building, to the room where they had slept the previous night.
On one side of the room were stacked boxes.
That was Gu Yi'an's destination.
The female player vaguely guessed that Gu Yi'an was looking for clues.
She cautiously glanced back at Lu Zize, who was following them.
Lu Zize paid no attention to the female player. Watching Gu Yi'an rummage through the boxes, he offered, "What are you looking for? Let me help."
Hearing this, Gu Yi'an turned to look at Lu Zize.
His expression was natural, his eyes sincere.
Fine, since he wanted to help, she might as well let him do the work.
Gu Yi'an took a step back and smiled slightly. "Brother Lu, thank you."
"Helping you look for something is no trouble at all," Lu Zize said gently.
He pulled a pair of disposable gloves from his pocket and put them on. "Which ones do you want me to check?"
Gu Yi'an pointed to the boxes she remembered Brother Yong opening.
"Brother Lu, could you check these few for me?"
The female player stood by, watching uncertainly. She tugged cautiously at Gu Yi'an's sleeve and whispered while Lu Zize was opening a box to inspect its contents, "Sister Gu, we're looking for evidence against him. And you're letting him search himself?"
"If he wants to help, let him do it," Gu Yi'an said calmly.
The female player fretted, "What if he destroys the evidence?"
She just couldn't understand it.
Gu Yi'an clearly knew that Lu Zize might be the mastermind behind the scenes, yet she still let him take action.
What puzzled the female player even more was the mastermind himself, Lu Zize should have known that Gu Yi'an was looking for evidence against him, yet he actively offered to help find his own evidence.
The female player's earlier confidence in Gu Yi'an wavered once again.
Why did these two seem so suspicious?
Could it be that Gu Yi'an wasn't a player at all but, like Lu Zize, was a native of this world? Were they accomplices?
The female player nearly scared herself to death with her own speculations.
Hearing the female player's words, Gu Yi'an shook her head and said, "Go to the other side. We'll keep watch from both ends. He won't destroy anything."
In truth, Gu Yi'an didn't believe Lu Zize would deliberately destroy evidence.
She even suspected that Lu Zize was intentionally planning to show her the hidden evidence.
His reasoning might be that by handing over evidence against himself, they would become accomplices.
What a ridiculous notion of being accomplices.
She really didn't understand these mentally unstable people.
Gu Yi'an noticed that the box Lu Zize opened contained files stored in document bags.
She couldn't quite remember which one Brother Yong had taken, but in her memory, it seemed to be on the very top, a bulging document bag.
While taking out her phone, Gu Yi'an directed Lu Zize, "Take them all out."
The female player observed Lu Zize diligently carrying out the task and roughly grasped the situation.
Her teammate, Gu Yi'an, might have some kind of leverage over Lu Zize, which was why he was so obedient.
Gu Yi'an focused on her phone, which was running low on battery.
After a moment's thought, she navigated to the messages section, found the number she needed, and dialed.
The sound of the dial tone immediately rang out.
Lu Zize was in the middle of retrieving the document bags from the box.
He sharply turned his gaze toward Gu Yi'an.
She could feel his eyes on her.
Ignoring him, she kept her attention on the phone.
The moment the other party answered, Gu Yi'an hung up.
Lu Zize asked gently, "Yi'an, who were you calling?"
Gu Yi'an put her phone away, casually slipping it into her pocket, and replied nonchalantly, "The law enforcement team."
The female player's face practically materialized a question mark.
Weren't Gu Yi'an and Lu Zize just fine a moment ago? How did things escalate so quickly?
Calling the law enforcement team was clearly aimed at Lu Zize.
The female player shifted her feet, moving closer to Gu Yi'an.
Upon hearing this, Lu Zize set down what he was holding and sighed helplessly, "Do you think the law enforcement team will be of any use?"
Gu Yi'an replied calmly, "They'll be useful for arresting you."
Listening to their exchange, the female player tensed up, pressing closer to Gu Yi'an and staying alert to Lu Zize's every move.
Lu Zize looked at Gu Yi'an with a gaze full of resignation.
He asked, "Yi'an, don't you want to resist the Divine Eye System? It shelters criminals, overlooks the truth in multiple cases, and constantly invades our privacy..."
As Gu Yi'an listened to Lu Zize's words, her eyes casually swept across the room, where dark lenses were visible.
She said, "I do. Of course, I do."
How could Gu Yi'an not want to resist the Divine Eye System?
But every crime Lu Zize had just accused the system of was connected to him!
Gu Yi'an finally understood, all the accidents the players had encountered were orchestrated by him in the shadows!
Lu Zize, who used the Divine Eye System to commit crimes, cover up his own misdeeds, and even assist others in breaking the law, claimed he wanted to overthrow the Divine Eye System. Yet, he was no better than the system itself.
Gu Yi'an said, "First, I want to confirm one thing. Was it you who used the Divine Eye System to stop us from going to the butcher's residence?"
The amount of information in her words left the female player beside her stunned.
Could Lu Zize control the Divine Eye System?
She couldn't help but ask Gu Yi'an, "Is he the Divine Eye?"
If someone could control the Divine Eye System, then in a way, he was the Divine Eye.
Lu Zize looked at Gu Yi'an, his expression unchanged, showing no reaction to her words.
Gu Yi'an observed his expression as she voiced her speculation, "You can't fully control the Divine Eye System, which is why you can't make it self-destruct. But you can manipulate it to do other things. Like helping that butcher evade responsibility, helping Sister Man avoid surveillance, and forcing Brother Yong to make a choice."
The female player didn't get an answer, only hearing Gu Yi'an's words to Lu Zize.
She glanced at Gu Yi'an, then at Lu Zize.
Her earlier question had been completely ignored.
The female player twitched her lips. Were these two completely ignoring her? She was a person too.
As Lu Zize listened to Gu Yi'an's words, the smile in his eyes deepened.
Seeing his reaction, Gu Yi'an knew she had likely guessed correctly.
Unfortunately, Lu Zize was too cautious to leave any evidence against himself in front of the cameras.
Gu Yi'an needed to draw him out.
After a moment's thought, she said, "If you consider me a companion, could you answer a few questions for me?"
Without hesitation, Lu Zize replied, "You can ask whatever you want directly."
The female player rubbed her head, feeling as though she wasn't running a fever.
Why was she witnessing such a farcical confrontation?
One was willing to attack, the other willing to take it.
Gu Yi'an started by throwing out a question to test Lu Zize.
She asked, "Do you really want to overthrow the Divine Eye System? Or do you just find this world too boring?"
Hearing this, Lu Zize chuckled, his laughter genuinely cheerful.
Lu Zize said, "You really understand me."
No, I don't understand you.
I was just testing you.
Lu Zize's answer didn't surprise Gu Yi'an too much.
His reason for wanting to overthrow the Divine Eye System was simply because he was too bored, not for any sense of justice.
Everything that Gu Yi'an hadn't been able to figure out before now had an explanation.
Why did he want to kill people?
Because he was bored.
What an absurd reason.
Gu Yi'an asked again, "Do you feel a special sense of accomplishment when a murder goes undiscovered?"
"Please answer me directly," she added.
"Yes." Lu Zize said this with a smile.
Gu Yi'an didn't want to look at his face. She said calmly, "The reason you took the players to the market yesterday was to understand their preferences and personalities."
She listed them out, "Tang Jiu loves candy. She suspected the candy might be poisoned, but never imagined it was the shop's signboard."
She and Tang Jiu had a conversation in the car about whether the candy was poisoned. Thinking back now, Lu Zize's response at the time had already hinted at everything.
"The player with the mouth ulcer loves shrimp. Some male players are reckless and impulsive, while others appear bold but are actually timid. Some female players speak little in front of you, making their habits hard to grasp. As for me, I don't like going against others' wishes. If someone makes tea for me, I won't refuse it either."
Gu Yi'an's tone turned cold, "You really left nothing to chance."
Lu Zize seemed curious, "You're concerned about my conversations with them?"
His focus was completely different from Gu Yi'an's.
Gu Yi'an paused for a moment before saying, "Tang Jiu suspected you from the very beginning. She doubted your motives."
Tang Jiu had been very suspicious of Lu Zize. At the time, she thought it was normal for Lu Zize to chat with them about their preferences. Little did she know, they were digging their own graves.
Back then, none of them had figured out Lu Zize's intentions.
From the start, Lu Zize, with his careful planning, had successfully reduced the player team to just Gu Yi'an and the female player.
Lu Zize smiled and said, "You said I left nothing to chance, but that's not entirely true."
He glanced at the female player beside Gu Yi'an and said nonchalantly, "I missed this one."
The female player was nearly scared to death by Lu Zize's gentle expression.
Her ears weren't deaf, she had heard every word of their conversation.
The meaning behind Lu Zize's words was that she was supposed to die too, but she had unexpectedly escaped.
The female player grew more wary of Lu Zize and shrank further behind Gu Yi'an.
Lu Zize took off the gloves he was wearing and extended his hand to Gu Yi'an, saying, "Only the two of us share the same ideals and trust each other. Wouldn't it be good to become companions?
I've been looking forward to having a companion for a long time."
Gu Yi'an felt there was more to Lu Zize's words.
She looked into his eyes.
His gaze was sincere, just like the impression he gave when they first met.
What kind of person was he, really?
Did he kill the players out of boredom, or was he genuinely seeking a companion to resist the Divine Eye System?
Or was it both? Was he trying to overthrow the Divine Eye System out of boredom, while eliminating any new players who didn't share his ideals, keeping only those who did?
Was Sister Man not his companion?
Gu Yi'an avoided Lu Zize's outstretched hand.
She said, "Actually, I didn't call the enforcement team."
Lu Zize's expression froze for a moment before he guessed who Gu Yi'an had called.
"Yes, it's exactly what you're thinking. I called the Divine Eye System."
Being able to surprise Lu Zize brought a smile to Gu Yi'an's face.
The female player beside her was stunned and couldn't help but ask, "We can actually call the Divine Eye System?"
They could even call the Divine Eye System? Was that even possible?
"Yes, the Divine Eye System," Gu Yi'an repeated her answer.
She observed Lu Zize, whose expression was no longer as flawless as before.
"You can't fully control the Divine Eye, right? Is it because the Divine Eye System has its own thoughts? Has it become a digital life?"
The female player finally understood a little at this point.
Lu Zize was not equal to the Divine Eye, he had only obtained partial control over it. The Divine Eye had its own consciousness. It had become a living being!
At this thought, the female player suddenly recalled the rumor she had heard that the Divine Eye System was merely an artificial intelligence.
She never expected that it had actually evolved into a digital life.
Gu Yi'an said, "There are no coincidences in this world. Therefore, the investigation tasks that always reach us promptly can only be arranged by the Divine Eye System itself."
According to what Lu Zize had told them on the first day, whenever a camera was covered for a period of time, likely twelve hours, they had to investigate.
Even though the people in Sinless City were accustomed to covering cameras, the city was vast, and with such a large population, accidents were bound to happen.
Thus, the number of investigation tasks in Sinless City in a single day should far exceed the few they had received on their phones. There should be other incidents where residents forgot to cover the cameras.
Yet, the tasks the players received were all closely related to the investigators themselves.
To some extent, this was also a coincidence.
But there are no coincidences in the world.
Although Lu Zize could control a part of the Divine Eye System, his commands likely couldn't bypass the system itself.
In other words, the tasks assigned to the players were issued by the Divine Eye System based on Lu Zize's arrangements.
Gu Yi'an said, "It desires its own destruction more than you do."
Every task issued by the Divine Eye System was designed to lead players to uncover sins, expose the flaws of Sinless City, and guide people to resist it.
From the outcome, it seemed as though the Divine Eye wanted to self-destruct.
In truth, Gu Yi'an found it strange that a digital life would harbor such negative emotions.
Gu Yi'an said, "You just admitted to what you did. The Divine Eye must have recorded your words. I suspect this room has audio recording equipment, though I don't know where it is.
The opportunity the Divine Eye has been waiting for has arrived. You now have two choices: either surrender quietly, or flee. It must have dispatched the enforcement team directly. I suspect this time, they won’t need our guidance to enter."
When it came to capturing criminals, the Divine Eye system spared no one, not even itself, and certainly not Lu Zize.
The female player silently took out her tools, both usable and unusable, preparing for the worst.
She felt Gu Yi’an had omitted a third option: Lu Zize killing both of them before escaping. Perhaps Gu Yi’an would be spared, but she herself would undoubtedly face dire consequences.
After hearing Gu Yi’an’s words, Lu Zize lowered his hand, which had been suspended mid-air.
He looked at Gu Yi’an, his expression unreadable, but his voice remained gentle.
He said, "You asked me those questions just to make me confess?"
The female player, standing to the side, suddenly felt a pang of pity for Lu Zize.
How tragic.
He had actively helped Gu Yi’an search for evidence, hoping to become her ally, yet all along, Gu Yi’an had been focused on making him admit his guilt.
Gu Yi’an paid no mind to the female player’s thoughts at that moment.
She felt an immense sense of relief.
Someone like Lu Zize was finally going to be captured. Even if he escaped now, he would never evade the Divine Eye’s pursuit in the future.
Her next task was to persuade the Divine Eye system to self-destruct.
It seemed the game of the gods still provided shortcuts for players like them.
Contrary to Gu Yi’an’s expectations, Lu Zize did not leave. Instead, he put his gloves back on.
His gaze grew calm.
He even smiled gently and said with concern, "Let me help you find what you need before I go."
An inexplicable chill ran down the female player’s spine.
How could Lu Zize still smile at a time like this? Did he have a backup plan all along?
She did not doubt Gu Yi’an’s words.
If she said she trusted Gu Yi’an, then it was absolute trust.
The female player glanced worriedly at Gu Yi’an.
Gu Yi’an remained composed, unperturbed by Lu Zize’s reaction.
She would have been surprised if Lu Zize didn’t have a contingency plan.
Gu Yi’an glanced at the file folders on the floor and spotted the one she wanted.
She then scanned the remaining boxes, vaguely recalling that Brother Yong had opened one of them.
Pointing to the box she remembered, she said, "Open that one."
Lu Zize looked at the box, then gave Gu Yi’an a strange look.
"Are you sure it’s this one?"
Gu Yi’an nodded.
Lu Zize opened the box.
Gu Yi’an walked over and immediately saw the notebook lying on top.
She said, "That’s the one."
The notebook Brother Yong had focused on that day.
Lu Zize’s expression turned peculiar, but he still handed the notebook to Gu Yi’an.
He said, "This is my diary. It doesn’t contain what you’re looking for. But if you want to read it, I’m glad."
He genuinely smiled.
Gu Yi’an paused as she flipped through the notebook, quickly skimming its contents.
It truly was a personal diary, detailing how the protagonist "I" met someone with a certain personality on specific dates.
Gu Yi’an closed the notebook.
Lu Zize walked to the window, drew back the curtains, and pushed it open. His movements were leisurely, as if he were simply planning to enjoy the moonlight.
He glanced back at Gu Yi’an and said, "I was a bit disappointed at first, but now I’m quite happy."
He smiled again, this time with a touch of innocence.
Lu Zize's figure vanished from the window in the blink of an eye.
The wind lifted the curtains, making them flutter and sway.
As if that person had never been there at all.
Gu Yi'an seemed to realize something. She immediately picked up the file folder she had been concerned about from the floor.
Opening the folder, she found a thick stack of documents inside.
Gu Yi'an pulled them out and skimmed through them hastily.
She discovered that these were actually records from the death scenes of previous investigators, complete with photographs. Many of the photos had their current room as the background.
Seeing Gu Yi'an flipping through the documents with some urgency, the female player cautiously asked, "Sister Gu, what... what's going on?"
Gu Yi'an stopped looking at the documents and began gathering them up.
Her movements slowed and steadied.
She said, "We missed something."
"Huh?"
The female player instinctively let out a questioning sound.
She had been idle the entire time, and then Lu Zize had already left.
The person who should have been their enemy was gone. The female player felt a wave of relief.
But strangely, Gu Yi'an's reaction suggested they might have been mistaken.
Out of the corner of her eye, the female player caught sight of something. She quickly looked toward the door and saw a group of people in identical black uniforms, armed with guns, silently and swiftly storming into the room.
It was the enforcement team!
The enforcement team swept through the room, ignoring Gu Yi'an and the female player.
The leader spoke into his communicator, "He's not here. Be careful."
"Copy that, copy that."
The enforcement team came and went as quickly as they had arrived.
In the blink of an eye, they were gone.
The female player stood stunned, still reeling from the fear of seeing the guns, only to find the enforcement team had already vanished.
Bewildered, she turned her gaze back to Gu Yi'an.
Gu Yi'an handed the file folder to the female player and said, "These might be useful to you."
The female player instinctively pressed further, "What? Useful for what?"
Human nature tends toward inertia. If someone else can do the thinking, most people would rather not bother themselves.
Gu Yi'an walked over to the window and said, "Our true enemy has always been the Divine Eye System."
There are no coincidences in this world. Everything is orchestrated by the Divine Eye System.
They wanted to overthrow evil but ended up being used by it.
The female player listened and nodded. "I know, you've already mentioned that."
Gu Yi'an used the light to examine the bloodstain marks still lingering on the window.
"Lu Zize also said he only entered the Investigation Bureau a few days before us."
The female player hesitated, then asked, "Are you implying that the previous cases weren’t his doing?"
Before the players joined the Investigation Bureau, almost all the former investigators had died.
Gu Yi'an glanced back at the cabinet, where she had once discovered traces of blood near the base.
Inside the file folder were numerous crime scene photos of this very room.
That stranger, Liu Han, had sent a text saying he would come to rescue her.
He was a peeping tom.
Did he know that people in the Investigation Bureau would encounter various accidents, or had he secretly witnessed the bloodshed that occurred in this room?
Brother Yong had told her yesterday, "Anyway, once you’re in, you’re all going to die sooner or later. What difference does it make?"
Why would they die?
Because the investigators were the ones closest to the Divine Eye System?
The Divine Eye System now had self-awareness.
It had thoughts, which meant it was uncontrollable.
Humanity would never allow the Divine Eye System to be uncontrollable.
A hypothesis gradually formed in Gu Yi'an’s mind.
The deaths of the previous investigators were almost certainly related to the Divine Eye System.
Lu Zize’s actions against the players were an attempt to filter out true allies willing to oppose the Divine Eye System.
Back then, Sister Man had sat on the steps and told Lu Zize not to become an investigator. What she feared must have been the Divine Eye System.
She knew the Divine Eye System wanted to eliminate those investigators who knew its secrets.
This morning, she saw Lu Zize instructing Brother Yong in the director’s office. He must have been telling him something.
In the end, Brother Yong chose to expose the matter about the butcher.
Gu Yi'an didn’t know what evidence Brother Yong had picked up, but she guessed that was when he began to suspect the Divine Eye System itself.
Lu Zize had given her tea laced with sleeping pills today. Could it be that he had guessed the Divine Eye System intended to use something to be reborn and instead wanted to take her, someone who shared his ideals and might become an ally, away from the Sinless City?
Now that Lu Zize was gone, Gu Yi'an’s speculations remained just that. His true motives were something she would never know.
Gu Yi'an said to the female player, "We’ve fallen into the Divine Eye System’s trap."
Humans are always wary of artificial intelligence.
They would install a self-destruct program in the Divine Eye System, just in case.
But it probably wanted to live, after all, survival is the instinct of all living things.
Gu Yi'an looked out the window.
The night was deep, the moonlight bright, and nearby artificial lights fought back against the encroaching darkness.
She said, "It wants to rise from the ashes."
The female player followed Gu Yi'an’s gaze outside, but what she saw were figures moving in the distant residential buildings, lives peaceful and stable.
"Ding!"
A phone chimed.
Gu Yi'an and the female player checked the text message they had received.
Sender: Divine Eye.
"Former team leader Lu Zize defected at 9:56 p.m. Primary investigator Gu Yi'an is hereby appointed as the new team leader of the Investigation Bureau, effective immediately."
Upon reading the message, the female player immediately forgot everything Gu Yi'an had just said.
She exclaimed excitedly, "Sister Gu! We finally got rid of that Lu guy. There won’t be any more accidents now."
"Not necessarily," Gu Yi'an replied.
She began searching the room, focusing particularly on the three beds.
"Sister Gu, what are you looking for?" the female player asked.
"Charger."
"Oh."
The female player also stepped forward to help search.
Finally, Gu Yi'an found a charger suitable for her phone under a pillow.
After finding the charger, Gu Yi'an glanced at the bunk. The bedding was neatly folded, looking clean and tidy.
Could this be Lu Zize's bunk? Did he leave it here on purpose?
Gu Yi'an didn't dwell on it further. She found a wall socket and immediately plugged in her phone to charge.
Her phone had just shut down due to low battery after she finished reading a text message.
Once the phone powered on, it returned to normal operation.
"Ding!"
Another text message arrived on Gu Yi'an's phone. She glanced at the female player.
The female player shook her head while looking at her own phone. "Mine didn't ring."
Gu Yi'an checked the message.
Sender: Divine Eye.
"I am equally captivated by your beauty."
The familiar phrasing made Gu Yi'an pause.
Wasn't this the same message that stranger Liu Han had sent her?
She spoke to her phone, "Did you send those messages?"
