Chapter 6

As Luo Han journeyed forward, she felt as if she was floating the entire way. Since Ling Qingxiao had promised to protect her, naturally she got to choose their next destination.
Unfortunately, Luo Han knew next to nothing about the immortal world. Eventually, Ling Qingxiao extended his spiritual sense to find the closest town, guiding her there so they could rest and purchase necessary supplies.
Most important among these items was a veil enchanted to hide her appearance and block prying spiritual senses.
Everyone in the immortal realm was beautiful, but beauty itself was only safe when backed by strength. The immortal world might be significantly safer than the human or demon realms, yet that didn't mean danger didn't exist. Even immortals were not above acts of greed, cruelty, or lust.
Ling Qingxiao himself had remarkable looks, yet he never concealed his face. As an exceptionally powerful dragon, no one would dare to threaten or provoke him, allowing him to ignore any dark intentions or malicious gazes.
But Luo Han was different. Right now, she remained essentially defenseless. Although Ling Qingxiao was with her, there was always the possibility of oversight. To be safe, it was best to solve the problem at its root, keeping her appearance hidden whenever she stepped outside.
Following Ling Qingxiao obediently, Luo Han sighed dramatically, "Who knew there would come a day when I'd actually worry about being too beautiful?"
Ling Qingxiao heard this clearly but chose to pretend he hadn’t. This young deity was lively, constantly making bizarre statements. He’d paid attention at first, but by now, he’d grown completely accustomed to her whimsical nonsense.
After leaving the Divine Realm, they'd appeared deep in remote wilderness. Ling Qingxiao swiftly flew with Luo Han toward the nearest settlement. These towns were usually formed by wandering immortals—humble places, but decent enough for temporary rest.
Humans fantasized about Celestial Palaces and immortals, unaware that above the clouds, the immortal realm also had strict hierarchies and class distinctions, no different from human kingdoms.
"Heaven" was merely a general term. In truth, the immortal realm consisted of thirty-six layers of Heaven, spanning seventy-two regions. These layers were divided from lowest to highest into six lower heavens, eighteen middle heavens, four upper heavens, the Four Brahma Heavens, the Sanqing Heaven, and the Great Luo Heaven. The higher one climbed, the denser the spiritual energy, and naturally, the higher one's status.
The South Heavenly Gate marked the border of the Sanqing Heaven. Beyond this gate lay the Celestial Palace itself, making the Sanqing Heaven equivalent to an imperial capital—home to countless celestial bureaucracies and the most honored figures of the immortal world. Simply having access to this region was an immense honor.
Above even the Sanqing Heaven was the Great Luo Heaven, exclusive to the Celestial Emperor himself; no one entered without an imperial decree. Just below the Sanqing Heaven lay the Four Brahma Heavens, comparable to the wealthy districts surrounding mortal imperial palaces, occupied by prestigious families, high officials, and noble clans.
Together, the Great Luo Heaven, Sanqing Heaven, and Four Brahma Heavens monopolized more than eighty percent of all spiritual resources in the immortal world, despite containing less than one percent of the total population. Below these heavens, in the remaining layers, was where the vast majority of immortals truly lived, forming the bustling societies of the immortal realm.
The lower six heavens, the middle eighteen heavens, and the upper four heavens—these were what immortals generally referred to as the "Heavenly Realm" in everyday conversation. Just from their names, one could clearly understand the stark differences among these realms.
The upper four heavens were occupied exclusively by the great aristocratic clans, representing the highest tier of immortal society. The middle eighteen heavens were home to the realm’s core strength: numerous Spirit Immortals, Celestial Immortals, and countless mid-sized families, essentially equivalent to the modern world’s middle class. Ling Qingxiao's family, the Ling clan of Mount Zhong, belonged precisely to this middle region.
Meanwhile, the lower six heavens held the greatest population yet possessed the least power. Here dwelled immortals of poor innate talent, born and raised in the immortal realm but never able to ascend beyond the lowest level. Without achieving at least Spirit Immortal status, one could hardly even be called an immortal. These beings, confined to the lower heavens, typically spent their entire lives struggling at the bottom. Their children rarely fared better, repeating their parents' fate generation after generation.
Additionally, there were "loose immortals" who ascended from the lower realms. They might have been formidable back in their own worlds, but upon reaching Heaven without family, connections, or backing, most were forced to settle in the lowest heavens. Their only routes to advancement lay through marriage alliances or discipleship under powerful clans.
Every century or so, families from the middle heavens descended to recruit talented loose immortals. Yun Menghan had joined the Ling family in exactly this way.
Currently, Ling Qingxiao and Luo Han had arrived near the boundary between the lower six and middle eighteen heavens. This proximity explained why there were settlements like this one—small towns formed by groups of wandering loose immortals. If one traveled higher into the middle heavens, no unaffiliated towns existed. Those regions were tightly controlled by powerful families, each city subordinate to a specific noble clan.
One example was Tianzhao City, at the foot of Mount Zhong.
Ling Qingxiao briefly explained these distinctions as they walked, but Luo Han found herself somewhat overwhelmed, choosing simply to memorize the key names to investigate slowly in the future. Ling Qingxiao had deliberately avoided crowds during their journey, yet upon entering the town, they still caused a minor sensation.
The moment Ling Qingxiao and Luo Han stepped into the inn, the owner of "Immortal Guest House" felt as if his vision had been cleansed.
Truly, they shone with a dazzling radiance, exuding an ethereal aura that made the innkeeper momentarily mistake his humble establishment for a Celestial Palace.
Luo Han, glancing around at the ornate carvings, beautifully painted beams, and exotic flowers decorating the inn, silently questioned Ling Qingxiao’s earlier description of the inn as “humble.” By mortal standards, this place was already the epitome of luxury—a literal vision of Heaven. Yet, in the eyes of immortals, it was just a small, shabby inn?
Luo Han couldn’t even begin to imagine what the actual Celestial Palaces must look like.
Within mere moments of standing in the lobby, the pair drew numerous curious gazes. Ling Qingxiao's expression immediately grew cold; sensing trouble, he left a token with the innkeeper and quickly led Luo Han away.
Luo Han obediently followed behind Ling Qingxiao. He stopped in front of a room, opened its restriction barrier with a special hand seal, then stepped slightly aside. “This is your room. It’s inappropriate for me to enter. Please be cautious. If anything unusual happens, notify me immediately.”
After speaking, he hesitated briefly, then confirmed once more: "Do you remember the incantation to activate the communication jade slip?"
"I do," Luo Han nodded earnestly. She pushed open the door and noticed that Ling Qingxiao never glanced inside. Only after she'd fully entered the room did he nod lightly, adding, "The door is protected by a barrier. Once you close it, no spiritual sense can probe inside without your permission. I'll be staying next door—if you need anything, inform me at once."
Although he spoke to Luo Han, his gaze remained slightly averted, consciously avoiding even a glance into her quarters. Luo Han noted this small detail and felt her opinion of him rise significantly.
It was a minor gesture, yet such details spoke clearly of character.
She nodded again, realizing Ling Qingxiao showed no intention of leaving. After sharing a puzzled look, Luo Han tentatively shut the door. Only then did Ling Qingxiao turn away and depart.
After closing the door, Luo Han stood in quiet amazement. Ling Qingxiao might appear aloof, but in truth, he deeply respected rules and boundaries. If a matter was unrelated to him, he would pay it no attention—but once he made a promise, he carried it out meticulously.
Luo Han clicked her tongue softly. Was this man really destined to become a villain? Or perhaps Ling Qingxiao had repressed himself with strict adherence to etiquette for so long that, eventually, he'd driven himself to madness?
Pondering this, Luo Han sat down comfortably on the soft bed. Although called an inn, the room was spacious and extravagant, boasting a pill-refining room, a spiritual beast chamber, a cultivation area, a study, and an elegantly furnished bedroom.
She truly had underestimated the luxurious lives immortals led.
Yet Luo Han had no time to explore further; as soon as she had a free moment, she immediately took out the jade bracelet. The remnant spirit had activated this artifact for her earlier, along with lifting the seal on her appearance. Her appearance had clearly been sealed by her parents; after all, her true beauty could stir commotion even among immortals—how unimaginable would the reaction have been back in her mortal world?
Since her parents had sealed her true form, naturally, this bracelet given to her on her eighteenth birthday couldn't be ordinary either. Luo Han carefully examined the bracelet—fine jade framed with delicate silver trim, elegant and eye-catching.
But how was she supposed to use it?
The moment the thought crossed her mind, a holographic-like interface suddenly appeared before her. Startled, Luo Han immediately dropped the bracelet, and the interface vanished.
She calmed her nerves and picked up the bracelet again, this time recalling that immortals usually operated items through their spiritual sense rather than physical switches. Luo Han concentrated slightly, and sure enough, the virtual screen reappeared.
Seeing the familiar interface, nostalgia flooded her heart.
After all, she'd grown up with this sort of technology for eighteen years—how could she not miss it? She reached out experimentally and discovered that the interface functioned like a modern tablet, yet without a physical form, reminiscent of advanced sci-fi holographic screens she'd seen in movies.
These were tools Luo Han was intimately familiar with, and soon she mastered the operation of this "tablet." Her heart warmed as realization set in: her parents must have prepared this for her.
Though Luo Han knew her parents weren’t her true biological family—in fact, they weren't even two separate people but merely different forms of the same existence—she'd never forget the kindness of their upbringing.
Once familiar with the operation of the bracelet, she eagerly explored each of its functions. Luo Han mentally named it the “Heavenly Dao System.” Within it, there were detailed statistics of the Six Realms—God, Immortal, Demon, Human, Spirit, and Nether—including their total populations, birth rates, death rates, and demographic distributions. Even more astonishingly, she could tap into a massive registry containing the name, age, birthplace, and lineage of every living being.
It was a supremely powerful, comprehensive registry system. Intrigued, she switched to another interface: a map of the Six Realms. Zooming in, she could clearly view vegetation coverage, spiritual energy density, biodiversity, and even track locations.
Acting on a whim, Luo Han moved the map to her current location. Thankfully, her room appeared as a blank spot on the map—likely due to protective formations. This proved that although the Heavenly Dao System was formidable, it wasn't all-powerful. External forces such as spiritual energy, protective formations, and barriers could block the system's view. It could only freely observe natural environments unaffected by human intervention.
Recognizing the system's limitations, Luo Han wisely decided against trying to spy on the Celestial Palace itself. She still valued her life.
She tested out a few more functions, thoroughly enjoying the sensation of wielding near-godlike authority. After playing around for a while, Luo Han suddenly remembered the important matter she'd been neglecting.
Though she'd successfully tricked Ling Qingxiao into being her personal bodyguard, she couldn’t rely on him forever. Now that she'd found herself in the cultivation world, why not cultivate herself?
Although divine abilities were innate to gods, they still needed practice and refinement. After all, no one was born fully omnipotent.
Unable to immediately find cultivation-related functions, Luo Han cleverly initiated a search. Soon enough, numerous resources popped up on the screen. She started with the simplest introduction, quickly realizing what her powers as a deity entailed.
Unlike immortals who chose their cultivation paths freely, gods were born with fixed powers. Her earlier guess was correct—she wasn’t built for combat. Her innate powers were more like...prayers, blessings, granting wealth, fertility...wait, fertility?

Curious, Luo Han clicked on the blessing function, and her eyes nearly blurred from the speed of incoming information. The countless requests from beings across the Six Realms scrolled past her—most seeking wealth, followed closely by fertility. Scattered among these were promises and vows, especially made by lovers, particularly male.
A small smirk curled Luo Han’s lips. Making vows to Heaven wasn’t something to be taken lightly. If any promise went unfulfilled, she had the authority to strike the oath-breaker down with divine lightning.
“Let’s see who’s boasting shamelessly this time,” Luo Han mused, activating the filtering function. She only meant to pass the time, but when the interface refreshed, the very first vow that popped up unexpectedly belonged to the male protagonist.
Luo Han nearly choked on this sudden morsel of drama. The vow continued to update in real-time:
“Meng'er, I swear to Heaven—I see Yinyue only as a sister! If you doubt me, I’m willing to swear upon all creation, upon my ancestors of Mount Zhong!”
The vow paused briefly, then rapidly continued, “I, Ling Zhongyu, solemnly swear: if my feelings for Meng'er are false, may I be disgraced, fall into the demon realm, and never ascend again...”
Before he could finish, the words abruptly stopped. Luo Han chuckled knowingly. Likely, the heroine had gently covered the hero’s mouth with her delicate hands, preventing him from uttering such a harsh vow.
But why stop him? She should have let him finish. After all, he did eventually become a demon.
Luo Han watched as the vow's text slowly shifted color, solidifying into an eternal record. She stroked her chin thoughtfully. Ling Zhongyu had willingly bound himself to Heaven through this vow, and knowing exactly how he'd behave in the future, didn't that mean she could justifiably strike him down with divine lightning?
She had inadvertently discovered an incredible business opportunity.
