Chapter 25
After leaving the bath, Xing Luo was about to transform back into her human form to help Ye Lixiao dress, but he wrapped his body in demonic energy.
The next moment, Ye Lixiao’s clothes were already on.
Xing Luo’s fur had also dried.
She stared blankly. Since he could use his magic to put on clothes, he could surely take them off the same way. So why still let her help? Was he deliberately teasing her?
Ye Lixiao, however, didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with his actions.
He then carried Xing Luo back to the bedchamber and laid down on the bed, preparing to sleep.
Xing Luo, as last night, rested on his chest.
Seeing how he had just played a little with her, she let it slide, considering he was injured.
As night fell, Xing Luo had already fallen asleep, while Ye Lixiao remained awake.
A trace of demonic energy flowed from his fingertips, silently entering Xing Luo’s body.
In an instant, she transformed from a cat into her human form.
Just like last night, Ye Lixiao held her, naked, through the entire night.
By morning, when he sensed Xing Luo was about to wake, he transformed her back into a little cat.
Xing Luo remained completely unaware of what had happened during the night.
When she awoke, Ye Lixiao had his eyes closed, pretending to sleep.
Carefully, Xing Luo rose, transformed into human form, and dressed herself.
Soon, Ye Lixiao “awoke” as well.
Xing Luo: “Your Highness, since you can dress yourself, I guess you don’t need my help, right?”
Ye Lixiao’s gaze was calm but deep as he looked at her. “I’m injured; it isn’t suitable to overuse my magic.”
The implication was clear, he still wanted her help.
Recalling the shocking wound on his arm, Xing Luo’s heart softened, and she didn’t say anything further. She walked over and helped him put on his clothes.
When it came time for breakfast, Ye Lixiao simply sat quietly, watching Xing Luo as if expecting her to feed him.
His injury was on his right hand, making it inconvenient to eat alone.
Since she had caused it, Xing Luo instinctively began feeding him breakfast.
At that moment, He Chen arrived at the door and saw Xing Luo feeding Ye Lixiao. He froze on the spot.
He seemed to have come at the worst possible time.
But how could He Chen have anticipated this? Ye Lixiao had never been close to women before, so there was no need for him to observe the situation beforehand. He certainly didn’t expect to walk in on this.
He Chen felt stuck, not coming seemed wrong, not leaving seemed wrong. Still, seeing how much Ye Lixiao cared for the former Demon Queen, even if it was just a similar cat-demon, he allowed it so completely.
Their presence drew the attention of both Ye Lixiao and Xing Luo.
A flicker of displeasure passed through Ye Lixiao’s eyes, though he didn’t show it openly. Coldly, he asked, “What is it?”
He Chen glanced at Xing Luo, realizing it wasn’t appropriate to speak in front of her. Understanding this, Xing Luo stood, saying, “Your Highness, I’ve finished eating. You two talk, I’m off to school.”
With that, she left the bedchamber.
Only then did He Chen step forward, reporting: “Your Highness, the border of the Demon Realm has been unstable recently. It seems there are disturbances caused by the Ghost Realm. The new Demon Lord is still in the early unstable period of their reign and cannot pay attention to the border. Your Highness, should we intervene?”
Ye Lixiao had always kept his subordinates aware of the Demon Realm’s situation, because it was Xing Luo’s territory. He wanted to help guard it for her.
