Chapter 26
Ye Lixiao parted his thin lips slightly, his tone cold as he said, “In the coming days, I will personally make a trip to the Ghost Realm.”
The unrest at the border of the Demon Realm was likely the work of the Ghost King, Feng Lu.
Feng Lu’s intentions were easy to read: he wanted to seize part of the Demon Realm while the new Demon Lord was still in the unstable early period of their reign, thus strengthening the Ghost Realm.
The Ghost King had always been ambitious. If Ye Lixiao didn’t personally pressure him, Feng Lu wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted.
Even with Ye Lixiao going himself, caution was necessary.
In a couple of days, once he had handled matters in the Demon World and his injuries had healed, he would make his journey to the Ghost Realm.
.
After leaving the bedchamber, Xing Luo headed straight to the academy.
She arrived just in time. The teacher was distributing test papers, preparing to quiz the students on the content from the past few days.
Seeing Xing Luo, the teacher gave a slightly helpless smile. “You only arrived yesterday and haven’t studied the previous material. Just write as much as you can, don’t stress about it.”
It was clear the teacher didn’t expect much from her. After all, she had slept through most of yesterday’s lesson.
Xing Luo raised an eyebrow. “Understood, Teacher.”
If she aced the test, would the teacher be shocked to death?
Sitting at her desk, Xing Luo glanced at the test and nearly laughed.
The questions were about what cultivators below level 50 needed to watch out for during training. Xing Luo was nearly at the max level herself. For other students, this might be challenging, but to her, it was as simple as asking what one plus one equals.
She picked up her pen and started writing. By the time other students had answered a few questions, she had already completed the entire test.
The teacher noticed, but didn’t think much of it, assuming she had written randomly.
“Ahem, ahem.” A woman sitting next to Xing Luo suddenly coughed twice, seemingly trying to get her attention.
Xing Luo turned her eyes and saw a small paper ball flying toward her, which she caught.
The woman gave her a sly, almost playful smile, showing no malice. She pointed at the teacher, then at the paper, signaling Xing Luo to take a look, before straightening up in her seat.
The teacher was looking at other students and hadn’t noticed.
Xing Luo opened the paper. It contained the test answers. The woman must have been trying to help her, likely seeing how quickly Xing Luo had finished, assuming she had just written nonsense. Since Xing Luo was personally sent by Ye Lixiao, it wasn’t unusual for someone to try to curry favor.
But Xing Luo didn’t need the answers. She disregarded the paper and put it in her desk, pretending not to see it.
She didn’t notice the slight gleam of satisfaction that flashed in the woman’s eyes when she saw the paper tucked away.
Before long, the other students finished their tests one by one.
The teacher graded them on the spot and announced the results.
All the students present were around level 30, except for Xing Luo at level 20. Yet the test covered knowledge appropriate for level 50, which was far beyond the others. Every student made at least a few mistakes, until the teacher came to Xing Luo’s paper.
“Hm?” The teacher furrowed his brows, his expression turning serious for a moment before returning to normal.
Shortly after, all papers were graded, and the teacher began announcing the results.
“This time, only one person scored full marks.”
