Chapter 29

Not long ago, Ye Lixiao had sensed the danger Xing Luo was facing, so he rushed over, but he didn’t appear immediately.
Because when he saw her expression, he already knew she could handle Qi Xue on her own.
Only after Xing Luo had taken action did Ye Lixiao appear, backing her up.
“Your Highness!” Qi Xue’s emotions instantly flared when she saw Ye Lixiao. “Your Highness! You saw just now! That little demon hurt me! You have to do something for me!”
The expressions of the teacher and the others were all very strange. First, Qi Xue accused Xing Luo of cheating and wanted to spar with her. Now, Xing Luo had displayed such incredible skill, proving she hadn’t cheated. And in the recent sparring, it was clear Qi Xue had intended to go all out, but now she, the villain, was accusing the victim first?
Still, Qi Xue was the daughter of the Right Chancellor, so no one dared to openly call her out. If Ye Lixiao didn’t care about the incident, anyone exposing her afterward would be in big trouble.
Everyone’s gaze naturally fell on Ye Lixiao, curious to see his stance. If he sided with Qi Xue, it would show he didn’t care much about Xing Luo. If he sided with Xing Luo, it was unlikely he would punish Qi Xue too harshly, after all, she was the Right Chancellor’s daughter.
“Your Highness, do you believe her, or do you believe me?” Xing Luo asked with a sweet smile as she sidled up to Ye Lixiao, wrapping her arms around his uninjured arm.
Seeing this, everyone froze.
Ye Lixiao never allowed anyone to get close, not women, not even men could touch him. Yet Xing Luo had the audacity to hug him outright.
Qi Xue was dumbfounded as well. Her sister had never been able to get close to Ye Lixiao, what Xing Luo was doing was suicidal!
Then, what happened next left everyone’s jaws on the floor.
Ye Lixiao lowered his gaze to Xing Luo and said coldly, “She bullied you?”
Xing Luo nodded slightly. “She tried to kill me!”
Ye Lixiao turned to look at Qi Xue, still lying on the ground, his eyes filled with lethal intent.
“Y-Your Highness. I didn’t! She’s lying! I” Before Qi Xue could finish, she was lifted into the air. A force seemed to clamp down on her throat, preventing her from speaking, making it extremely difficult even to breathe.
Ye Lixiao stood in place, raising one hand as if grasping something in the void. With each movement he made, Qi Xue’s expression grew more and more pained.
Xing Luo couldn’t help but marvel at Ye Lixiao’s power. No matter how far the target was, he could take a life from a distance like this.
Ye Lixiao didn’t kill Qi Xue outright. Just as she was about to suffocate, he threw her back to the ground.
“Cough! Cough, cough.” Qi Xue knelt on the ground, hacking violently, her face full of terror.
Even the onlookers were frightened. They had assumed that since Qi Xue was the Right Chancellor’s daughter, Ye Lixiao wouldn’t punish her too harshly, after all, the Right Chancellor was far more important than a little demon like Xing Luo. But they hadn’t expected him to deal with her so decisively.
“Th-thank you, Your Highness. for sparing my life.” Qi Xue hastily kowtowed in gratitude.
“You’re thanking me too early,” Ye Lixiao said coldly. He didn’t say he was letting her off, he had a question for her. “Who instructed you to do this? I’ll only ask once.”
He said no more.
He would only ask once. Qi Xue had a single chance. If she didn’t tell the truth, the consequences would be more than she would want to imagine.
